So as you might think, I'm pretty hungry right now and decided I'd have some mac & cheese and thought I'd make a poll out of it on here.  This is my first poll, hope I gave good options, and enjoy it like a fresh bowl of mac & cheese! Yum!  I'm out: dinner time for me!

I tried Mac & Cheese for the first time a few months ago at work. I thought I'd like it since everybody who eats like me loves mac & cheese, it was the worst mistake I ever made about food. I thought it tasted horrible.

Kraft used to put the microwave directions on the box mac & cheese until they came out with easy mac... I wonder if they did that as a marketing ploy to make people think that if you wanted to make mac & cheese via microwave you HAD to use easy mac, when if fact you can make it with the box type.
As I prefer to microwave the box mac & cheese as it makes more food I memorized the directions:
3/4 cup water, microwave until close to boiling (~4mins)
Put water in bowl with noodles, microwave for 9 mins, stir every 3mins
When done add 1/2 stick of butter, 1/4 cup milk, cheese packet, stir, and enjoy!

Sorry you didn't like it!  You might want to give it another chance though: until I learned how to make it, my mom used to make mac & cheese for me when I was way younger.  Now when I make it mac & cheese tastes so much better compared to my mom's, even though there doesn't seem to be any way to mess up the directions, she did :S
Anyways, to sum it up, maybe try it again but have someone "experienced" in making it make it and see if it tastes any better!

One of lifes high pleasures is making food that makes people drool when they smell it and kiss your butt when they eat it.
Try my recipe for baked mac and cheese if you dare;
WARNING no boxed schlock will  ever be edible again unless you are starving

8 ounces Elbow Macaroni, uncooked
2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups skim milk
2 cups grated hard cheese (such as Cheddar)
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs

1.    Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain in colander. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Slice the tomatoes into 1/2-inch-thick slices. Set aside on a small plate. Crumble the bread crumbs with your fingertips. Set aside on another small plate.

2.    Into a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter or margarine. Add the flour, dry mustard and salt, then cook together for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the milk little by little and continue stirring until mixture thickens. Add cheese and stir until melted. Place two slices of tomato in bottom of pan, then half the pasta. Place another two slices of tomato, the remainder of the pasta, and pour the sauce over all. Arrange three slices of tomato on top and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve immediately.

I make my own mac and cheese, like ATG. I'll try out your recipe sometime...
