honestly, Arma isnt the fast paced action like BF series but it was so much fun playing it in coop against AI bots.

@Alpha: dont worry, even my über rig isnt running ArmA all maxxed. But a friend of mine uses a AMD 3000+ and GF 6600GT and he´s quiet comfortable with it

Well, I can play it on my old AMD64 3200+, 1024MB with GF5950Ultra too, 800x600 and low settings though.

Better check the demo first. Its a completley diffrent game style tbh. I´ve cursed the singleplayer more than once, and still dont get a hang to it. But after yesterdays multiplayer COOP, I only can say, what the f*ck!!! Or maybe, hell yeah

That ArmA is it anything like Operation Flashpoint? cause that´s still the best war-sim i have played on pc if you can call it a Sim.

I think that ArmA is the "real" OFP 2 because Bohemia stole the name OFP (that's why its name is ArmA now). So Bohemia will release their own OFP 2 in couple years but it's not like the original OFP.     ArmA=OFP 2 (YAY the musics are almost the same as in OFP)

EDIT: English version will be released 16.2 (they play the not English one, right?) And OFP was the best modern wargame ever so this should be cool

i bought ArmA while on vacation.  even signed up for armainteractive.com where Goldman is but i haven't had time to play it except on single player mission which was hard as hell...thought of learning a new game is daunting but i'll get to it i guess.

edit: at first i was pissed cause my german copy only had german menu and shit but there's a patch which converts everything to english so don't worry what version you get!

Eh over here in germany ArmA is aviable since early december..

The unpatched singleplayers missions are shit. But with the current patch 1.02 (?) most AI issues are fixed. Who cares for singleplayer anyways. The multiplayer counts and most german PC mags gave it a fat 90-92/100.

It takes a while till you get used to all the commands and stuff, but as an old Operation Flashpoint veteran, its pretty easy.
