ok, I've been joking around with the easily mod-able file and it is possible to play the campaign as the Papal States (pope).. it is extremely easy since you have a very good economy and some cheap kickass infantry all the way from the starts.. but it is still very fun becasue you can controll those irritating inqisitors and if you attack anyone they get excommunicated

lol, I took away a line in the coding so now the timer under the hourglass shows the year, not the turn
I also changed it so each turn takes 1 year, not 2 perfect amount of time
but alas, it seems almsot impossible to be Mongols or Timurids in the Campaign.. for it to work I would have to change many lines in many different files and I don't want to do that >.<
and I use no money h4x or cheat I can't even use cheats if I want.. the "cheat key" doesn't work.. I think maybe it's because I have a laptop

The cheats from Rome doesn`t work, found some supposedly for Med Ev 2 on different sites but none work !
Have finished the game with France witch was very toight economy wise but cool with all those cavalry units, they have exspensive upkeep but are cool to use in battle

Completed Gears of War on the 360 yesterday on the normal skill level. Was kinda disappointed that I had already reached the end of it, so going to play it on HARDCORE now, then INSANE. I will be able to unlock more achievements if I do this, although can someone tell me what the achievements do?

-I just keep on looking on the details scroll what building will give me the most money (it depends on what other buildings you have)

-when I take a city, I sack then move all my units except tone out of it and put taxes on very high, when they revolt I just retake and exterminate it.. gives me the money from both sack and exterminate + a happy city so I can put taxes higher

other then that I don't know... except that you should create the most upgraded dock possible before you make the available "warehouse-sea-trade-thing" buildings... for some reason I don't know it give you more trade income then if you build the warehouse before the docks...
basically I just earn a lot of money and don't use that much

Making money is surprisingly easy in this game. Just make like money making buildings like trade and food and mine mixed in with population happiness things and only have like maximum 5 units in the town. Each town should then give you 2000+ per round.

the order in wich you build buildings also matter keep an eye on your city details scroll and if the trade icons are flashing then upgrade roads or warehouse.. not before

and on the papal (and all other factions) it's excactly the same as in Rome... the file even has the same name so if you know how to do it in rome then you know how to do it in m2 in the same file you can change the little 2.00 to a 1.00 wich will give you twice as many turns

Got M2 at the weekend, and have been playing English since. Definitely a big step up in graphic detail from Rome
However, I was finding the gameplay a bit slow as I was trying not to piss the pope off. I had a bit of a scrap with the Scots, but backed off because the pope told me to, so they are still in existence. I was basically sitting around for a while because all the rebel towns had been taken, and there seemed not much war to be had without going for another catholic faction. I can now see that I should have been off crusading at that point, but all my troops were deserting so I abandoned it and then took Zagreb off the Venetians (excommunicated at that point).
The Danes have attacked me, so there is plenty going on now, but I was wondering, how bad would it have been to have been excommunicated for finishing off the Scots? Would I then have attracted more attention from the French etc?
