Gentlemen, today is the first day of my second year of playing BF2.
Well, actually it was yesterday, but I played my first real match at Oct. 23rd 2005. My first round one day before ended after a minute because players left. I got a bronze star and somehow the basic assault combat, because I managed to get the last shots on a Blackhawk with 5 guys in it (with an AK-101)
It was the day when I got high speed Internet, so playing online was completely new to me.

However, it was a great time, especially when I got my headset as a Christmas present so that I could play with friends. I still sucked at that time (at playing infantry), thats why I played commander a lot. When I got my new graphics card, I became better (my Infantry K/D increased from 0.2 to >0.8 now and is still getting better). I can definitely blame my graphics card, because when I had to use the old one for a few weeks this summer, I lost every single shoot-out and my game lagged as hell.

Now the funny thing: I knew BF2s.com before I even had BF2. A friend had the old award sigs in his sig on our school-forum and it was linked to this page.
And I'm glad to know it, even though some parts of the forums are full of some idiots who are spamming every thread. Especially the EU section is a great thing, and when I joined the server the first time (2006-04-02) it was a fantastic experience, which became even better when joining TS.

I remember some funny dialogs like this one:
Only Germans where on the server, slayer asked dancer something about the enemy tank in German and I gave the answer in German, because I was commander:

Slayer: (translated into English) What the hell was that? Mike, did you talk German? Are you German?

All in all, the year was fun, and i still feel honored, that most of you trust me as a server admin and always play some good rounds with all the others.

I'm proud of you and I can say without any doubts:

The BF2s EU division is the best community ever!

Especially Goldman, the three German guys who already left (HellHead, Captain and dancer), Slayer, Superfly, alpha, Echo and all the other guys who have been part of the EU division since the first days.

Geeze I never thought of looking to see how long I have been playing. 16months!!! I only play BF2 in 16months no other games.

Congrats mike with your 1 year bf2 anniversary.

9 days to go for me and i ll be playing bf2 for a year. I played loads of wake 07 in the beginning and my first unlock was the m95. I couldn't hit shit with it and i hated it so i never used it again for about 400 hours and now its my favorite unlock lol. My k/d ratio was like 0.3 or lower on all my kits when i started playing and i still suck at infantry, except sniper. My sniper k/d went up from 0.6 to 1.2 in about 70 hours. Not that bad i would say but i still have alot to learn tho. I m most effective really as a lone wolf sniper defending stuff and i m getting the hang of this sniping in bf2s squads thing.

I ve been playing on the eu ranked server since week 2, i m working for bf2s.com for 7 months and i hope to be around next year on this date.

congrats on your aniversary Mike! You´re probably the best commander I´ve ever served in this game. But dont try flying the chopper again when Im also after it. You know you´ll fail

I play BF2 since june 2005, when it was released here in germany. Havent played the demo at all. At this time I became tired of all this CounterStrike: Source and ESL, Stammkneipe stuff. Damn, I was german top50 player at this time Five of my clanmates also decided to move along with BF2. We´re out for only point whoring and I remember I was already 1st. Sgt when I played the EU server first. I dont know the exact date yet, but I have a screeny where I killed the whole Goldman squad, including Echo, B.Schuss, Goldman and RobinHood. This was my first encounter on the server, and I´ll never forgett this.

Next day I joined TS² and since then I connected there nearly every day. I became a big jet- and amorwhore on the EU server too, but not to compare with all the great grunt teamwork we had here. Hey, feel honored, I only managed to get around 30.000 points on the EU server in, eh, 10 month I guess! I´ve done my other 30k´s in only three month , but those month were more fun than point farming.

I also would take my chance and say thank you for some f*cking great games and evenings to:

MikeEagle (Request arty on this area, Dortmunder, pf!)
Superfly_cox (american psycho, best tank driver ever)

Eh, if you dont have to say anything usefull, feel free to not post

I dont know how it is with you, but most of us only play this game some days a week because we have a real life, with job, other hobbies, girlfriend and buddies. I have been with the EU community since the release of patch 1.22 I think. Would have been here earlier but was having "issues" with patch 1.21.

At first I didnt know if anyone could understand me because I think it was HellHead and Varegg on TS², so a Germand and a Norwegien talking to a Scotsman (with a strong accent), and I didnt think anyone would ever be able to understand me. Then someone said to me just to slow my talking down. THEN I met Superfly, who could understand me better, so I stayed on his team, in his squad which made it easier to get my foot in the door of the eu community.

Now I think that my voice has improved since joining!
