ok, well i have my laptop finally, and found it runs better than my pc. so i was thinking "why not play bf2 on this?".

now, the problem lies within the 2 inch crack in my BF2 CD (i use my SF disc to play)...

i know i can get a new one for like... £7.00 and alos borrow my friends, but i was also wondering if it is possible to copy the battlefield 2 folder from this pc onto my laptop. i was also wondering if this is possible, would i have to uninstall it from this pc in order for it to work? would i need to buy  whole new bf2, as it's a different computer?

any help with the main question (can i just copy the folder) would be really apreciated.

thanks in advance,

Can't just move the folder, they're registery keys that need to be installed with the bf2 installer.

Borrow or buy a disc, why mess around.

Don't think you can just copy the folder. If you have the original cd you could try getting a mini cd image (create one with Alcohol or search for a download of one on the web) and mount it on a virtual drive on your laptop using Daemon Tools (free download). Then you can play without needing the CD in your laptop at all.

You could also download a copy since you are allowed a digital backup (at least in the US).

As everyone says: Do not copy. Borrow a friends copy, or get one from anywhere. Using another copy for installing is not a problem. It's the CD key that is important to you. Each CD key is unique, and can only be used by one computer at a time. So yeah. You CAN install on the laptop if you want, but then you CANT play with the same key from the desktop PC at the same time.
It doesn't matter if you use the SF DVD, the BF2 DVD or an image. The only thing that "matters" for online play is the key.

IF you have the CD key, at least TRY to contact EA.  I doubt they'll give a shit about thier customer, but it the first thing I'd do.
