Woots I'm on my 16th day and I love it.

Got myself 7 million ISK, a Caracal heavily fitted out with 2 large shield exts and five missile launchers (the equipment cost more than the ship) and two frigs under backup... awesome game.

Anyone else out there?

I used to play. One of my good friends plays, TwilightMadcat.

I had a good 850mil before I quit, too. Just got boring.

I heard it's a great game, but I'm too lazy to pay per month.

It isn't, CCP won't let you trade money for money. Instead, Players buy timecodes and sell them on the forums, which is allowed. 30 days sells for about 100mil, 90 days sells for 270-280mil ish. That way CCP doesn't get gimped.

Ooh, I didnt know that, might give this trial a spin again. Tried it once a while back and thought it looked awesome, pretty hard to pick up all the controls and menus (too many of them for my liking), and cos I didnt want to pay monthly I didnt play more than about 10 days.

I think the emphasis on leaving game-events etc up to the players is cool, might go find myself a corps (or whatever they are called).

Currently playing, my corp was a pirate corp but we are returning to the light and going to become a bullycorp/empire war corp.

Lots of fun, nothing beats PVP.

ps. don't come to Olettiers.

OMG. Where has this game been all my life? I'm a complete noob and utterly overwhelmed by the vastness and potential of the game but that's what make it so exciting!! I'm just doing missions until I find out what the game's really about so if anyone knows any quick money making tips please let me know.

The best way to make ISK in this game is most likely extreme trading, but you need leet skills and a ton of ISK to begin to do that, not to mention you probably need to play at least 4 hours a day for you to make the big bucks.  Another way is PVP, which in this game is probably the best PVP I've seen in any MMORPG.  You need some decent skills to kill the big ships, but you can get started and make a lot of money with it if you are in a corp that pvps.

yep, i been playing this as well...

its a little cheesy, laggy, and with players driving the story you wonder what the fees are for. it reminds me of playing a Freelancer mod on a server with 25000 people, not some MM game. good points are all the different types of equipment, arsenal, and shenanigans going on in the game. bad points are the systems all look the same albeit with different colors, and spawn camping is considered a "tactic". i also like the skill system, which trains in real time 24 hours a day logged in or out. this is great to keep players somewhat even, unlike other games where you need to earn XP to level up, and you are bound to always be behind some 12 year old punk, or that guy from the South Park Warcraft episode.

i dig it. this week i am just training skills that take 4 days, and playing Diablo 2 on the side.

the fees are for server maintenance, cuz im pretty sure you need some big-ass server to host 30,000+ people at one time with thousands of solar systems and objects

I liked this game when I first tried it, but, I really don't like it anymore, the main focus is getting money really, you can't really dominate the universe, and there is always some one who can beat you, and the death system is way too harsh. Insurance barely covers your equipment costs.

I played the trial for a while but eventually got bored of all the waiting i had to do.

It was just: Pick a destination, wait a loooooong time, fiddle with the menus and then pick another destination. Repeat.

I know there's a lot more to the game than that, but only if you put a lot of time into it. And i couldn't see myself putting a lot of time into a game where, after a day or two, was mostly alt+tabbed when i was playing.

Also, i'm not going to pay per month if i can help it.

I concur.

However, I really want a replacement for Freelancer. I miss my space combat so much.
