I have an existing account. I start the launcher and it asks me to tell it where the BF2 directory is currently installed.
I may just have to DL from them.
Yeah I downloaded it through Battlelog.co, works perfectly, and no CD key needed. Also if you run the game without the launcher you can set your tags.

Got the launcher all set up but getting into the menu is as far as I can get. It just crashes when I try to join a game
Try running the game in windowed mode from the launcher to see if an error message pops up when you join a server.
