Art museum is called LACMA. There's a pretty cool farmers market downtown as well. I think the Broad (new museum by Disney Concert Hall) is better than LACMA personally. I'd also ditch the grove and try to hit either the Getty Center and/or the Getty Villas. Also go to Will Rogers State Beach (it's where they filmed Baywatch...excellent LA beach).
