i have one piece of fashion meta-advice of all and sundry visitors to this thread:
do not take fashion advice from jay or dilbert. let them duke this round out and soundly ignore everything they have to say about how to dress.

All I know about khakis is this.
Just normal non-jeans trousers. Nothing special about them. Chino's if you will.

Or least not to wear chino's unless you combine them with a flip phone in a holster on your belt.cowami wrote:

I wear chinos all the time, and I'll have you know a belt holster is way out of date. I keep my flip phone in my satchel.

You can wear black shoes with a navy blue suit.Jay wrote:
Don't wear black and blue together.
All-white works if you're going for the "Morgan Freeman as God" look. However, you're not going to pull it off unless you're an elderly black man with freckles.DrunkFace wrote:
The only all matching colour that works is an all black suit.
Rules can change from casual to formal. IMO, white shirts works best with blue jeans and sneakers/sandals. But if you're actually digging around for jeans/t-shirt fashion advice, instead consider upgrading your wardrobe to to a wider selection of slacks, casual leather (or faux leather, if you're that breed and can actually find good ones) shoes and socks that don't look silly with them, button-up shirts and a couple of good belts. Top it off with a sports jacket and, when you want to down-dress, blouson.SuperJail Warden wrote:
So what are the rules regarding matching clothes?
Blue shirt, blue shoes, and blue jeans okay? basically one color for the day
Blue shirt, black jeans, black shoes better? 2 colors for the day
Blue shirt, black jeans, blue shoes? 2 colors but broken up
Or should every thing be its own separate color?
If it must be jeans, get some fitted pairs.
He still has to accessorize with black to make it work. But I can't think of many occasions I'd want to sport the look.
Only servants and pilots wear white shirts, I thought everyone knew that.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
