Hmm, that explains a lot. While not much is known about Kyle's father, a profile in the New Yorker states that he was once a machine operator who struggled with alcohol and experimented with drugs.
I think there's a lot of confirmation bias going on here. Connecting two end dots, skipping numerous middle dots. If everyone with an alcoholic father and having been raised by a single mother went on a shooting spree, it would be absolute bedlam in the states.
This focus of mac's on the appearance of Kyle's mom is bizarre and doesn't really get to the bottom of things. I've heard better arguments for stuff from high school students that he has such a disdain for.

Her son dropped out of high school. That's almost impossible to do. She is a bad mom and the whole world now knows.
Stuff like that CNN article paint a clearer sequence of events than you usually get from stuff like 100-character tweets from Fox/etc. personalities, "upstanding young man swarmed by two older men and, this just in, a sex offender." Not that any of that matters for heel-dug readers who would have already had their minds made up before Fox and Friends got a word in edgewise.
I read a lot through NYT. Some more from the article I quoted above.
(1) Plenty of people who have hard starts in life don't go on to kill people. His troubles don't even come close to excusing his very bad decision to get involved that night.
(2) It's aggravating that people who would argue that "Kyle had a rough start ;; " don't extend that same pity to their political and racial opposites who get themselves into lesser trouble.
(3) Kyle's "rough start" wasn't impossible to overcome. Plenty of Americans have it much worse and persevere.
(4) His post shooting behavior, underage drinking etc., shows that he hasn't learned anything constructive from this event. Him getting off on these charges will likely make him a worse person.
(5) However right or wrong the shooting was doesn't matter anymore. It will be good for society if Kyle gets 50 or however many years. Sometimes life is unfair like that. Sometimes the greater good requires you go to prison for 50 years at the age of 18. Sometimes the USAF drops a bomb on you and your family when you are 5 and huddling on a river bank. If the lives of those people is worth so little then why should I care about Kyle's? See point #2
My better angels tell me I shouldn't punch down on this poor family. So I guess I won't but with several caveats.Wendy sometimes felt too overwhelmed to help her kids navigate difficulties. In 2017, when Kyle was fourteen, she tried to resolve a conflict between him and two classmates, twins named Anthony and Jonathan, by seeking restraining orders. In a handwritten petition to the court, Wendy, who has dyslexia, wrote, “Anthony calls Klye dumb stupid say that going to hurt Kyle. Anthony follows Kyle around to take picture of Klye and post them on soical media.”
In 2018, shortly after another eviction, Wendy filed for bankruptcy. She developed a gastrointestinal bleed that required hospitalization, and [Kyle's sister] was also hospitalized, after an attempted overdose involving over-the-counter painkillers. To make money for the family, Kyle worked as a fry cook and a janitor while attending school online. He also became certified as a lifeguard and found part-time work at a Y.M.C.A.

conservatives: this poor white boy had such a rough start in life .. he fell in with the wrong crowd ... he was young and impressionable, possibly mentally ill ... it's video-games, and the media ...
also conservatives: this black kid is genetically violent. we must sentence him as harshly as possible so that the rest of his breed get the message that crime doesn't pay.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/59338118Azeem Rafiq has apologised and said he is "deeply ashamed" for using anti-Semitic language in Facebook messages from 2011.
Former spinner Rafiq has spoken of his experiences of racism at Yorkshire and appeared at a Digital, Culture, Media and Sport select committee this week.
The 30-year-old said he had "absolutely no excuses" for the messages.
"I am incredibly angry at myself and apologise to the Jewish community," he said in a statement.
Rafiq also later apologised on Thursday for an Instagram meme containing a saying relating to African people.
He said posting this four years ago "was a matter of stupidity but the harm is the same as overt racism so that is no excuse".
Fuck Israel
Wow. I guess that means that racism isn't a problem, anywhere. Pack the thread up, guys.
his treatment by his peers was awful. years of abuse. his complaint was valid and everyone thinks so.Dilbert_X wrote:

no doubt that certain groups who are victims of racism also have to clean up their own house. black violence on asians over covid-19, for instance.
the only person here who peddles the caricature of 'white man evil, minorities blameless' is you. that's you and your tabloid intelligence.

yep.On Tuesday, Rafiq told the digital, culture, media and sport select committee that phrases such as the P-word, “elephant washers” and “you lot” were commonplace and that players of colour were referred to as “Kevin”. He added that as a 15-year-old at Barnsley Cricket Club he had wine poured down his throat, despite this going against his Muslim faith.
The testimony plunged English cricket into crisis.
Parekh, a Labour peer who served as president of the Academy of Social Sciences from 2003 to 2008, said: “What we are witnessing is the crudest form of racism that you could ever imagine.”
He added: “England has changed quite a bit as a result of Asian presence and black presence. Look at music, drama, theatre, corner shops opening late, family values, all of these things have changed British culture. And likewise, Asians have changed as a result of British culture. Those who do not want to accept it resort to this kind of vulgar racism.”
[...]
Parekh, who has written extensively on rethinking multiculturalism, added: “What we mean by multiculturalism is that no culture is perfect. Every culture is defective, it has to learn from others and therefore we want to encourage dialogue between different cultures, where each can learn to be critical of itself and learn also from the treasures of other cultures. It is the process of mutual learning.”

Why don't they play baseball instead of cricket?
why don't you get fisted by an italian-american barkeep?
"Kyle Rittenhouse, who fatally shot two men and wounded another amid protests and rioting over police conduct in Kenosha, Wis., was found not guilty of intentional homicide and other charges on Friday, in a deeply divisive case that fed a national debate over vigilantism, gun rights and the definition of self-defense."
Disappointing but life goes on. Kyle will get OJ Simpson''d soon.

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
No shit. I meant he is a fuck up who will get nailed on an unrelated case down the line to make up for getting off here. Like they gave OJ 30 years for armed robbery.
not guilty. what a travesty. imagine killing two people and shooting a third for free.
america is one helluva drug.
he won't even learn his lesson. he's a hero for the far-right now. he's a living horst wessel.

So go to the next bitchfest hosted by whiny republicans at my local capitol when they don't get their way.
Bring a gun to protect my capitol from those rioters.
Try to stop them from not burning public buildings.
Then mow them down them when they attack me?
Got it.

They are going to start chanting Lets Go Kyle
the justice system is too lenient on violent black offenders, dontcha know?
meanwhile, in wisconsin, a judge dismissed an obvious gun-violation out of hand, against all legal wisdom, and a white kid just walked away without a single penalty for shooting three people.
i'm sure daqwan who has been rotting pre-trial on riker's island for 3 years will agree with you: blacks have it easy.
next kyle should sue in a civil appelate court for the distress and inconvenience this process has caused him.

Cockfighter pig men run a car off the road and beat a guy in his 60s half to death. Excuse: trespassing. There was no trespassing. Cockfighter pig man's cockfighting wife lies and incites supporters from local community to show up at court.
They stage another cockfight in the interim between the assault and the trial.
Misdemeanor assault and a handful of years.
I guess death threats against animal rights people as well, though this sort of thing is nothing new to SHARK. Yes, it's certainly black people who are treated too leniently.

For mac's research, youtube link of hidden cam footage of assault (headphones warning). Blood in thumbnail so I won't be embedding it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8hIIczNeOAhttps://www.animals24-7.org/2021/11/11/ … -be-tried/
Newcomb was convicted on November 5, 2021, after a two-day jury trial, of one count of felonious assault for using his pickup truck to ram Fahnestock’s car, running it off the road into a deep ditch; one count of felony theft for causing the loss or destruction of a SHARK drone, the drone controller, and miscellaneous camera equipment; and one count of misdemeanor assault for beating Hindi.
“I didn’t do it” says perp of offenses caught on video
Lectured by Lawrence County Court of Common Pleas Judge Andrew Ballard about the importance of showing remorse as a factor in sentencing, and then asked if he had anything to say, Newcomb said only “I didn’t do it.”
Newcomb and co-defendant Shannon Clark were caught by SHARK hidden cameras in the act of attacking Hindi and Fahnestock on January 3, 2021.

if you really think there is any doubt about how wrong and disgusting this is, and if you doubt that english cricket is institutionally racist at the club, county and national level, and categorically has failed to clean up its own mess ... then i don't know what to say to you.
https://www.lrb.co.uk/blog/2021/november/not-cricketCounty cricket welcomes white Rhodesians and South Africans with open arms, while tormenting British Asians and blacks. It took Rafiq, and other players of Asian and Caribbean heritage, some time to understand the extent to which racism was embedded in the consciousness of some of their white fellow players. The old colonial mentality was alive and well in English cricket. Some had assumed that a love for cricket might transcend all prejudices. This was, alas, not the case, as they had to learn the hard way. The word must have spread. Since 2015, the number of British Asian kids learning cricket has declined by 40 per cent and Rafiq has said he would not encourage his son to play.
Everyone is racist, explain again how the Indian caste system works, didn't India have to be split into India and Pakistan to stop racists killing each other?
A bit of banter seems relatively mild.
