In LA, go to santa monica, venice and melrose. SB is fun. State street has all the fun bars and shops. Stop in OC and go to Laguna Beach. In SD go to PB, OB and the gaslamp.

Venice Beach and Santa Monica are pretty cool. I also liked the Americana in Glendale.
