AFAIK Edinburgh Tattoo is mostly marching bands.
Fairford Air Tattoo is entirely different - one of the biggest airshows in Europe.

Edinburgh tattoo has gone down in quality the last few years too.

They used to have US marines who would throw around their rifles with bayonets attached.

Last few years has seen too many countries with no military backgrounds really, just part of the commonwealth there to round out the numbers.
