Bugs can be easily rooted out in a month. Hell... I was programming Battleship in a high school class, and whenever I started it up, it crashed the computer. I changed a 1 to a 4, and it worked perfectly. It's often simple things like that which cause bugs.

Well the file is from Fileplanet, and the CD key is from there to. It reboots when I press activate.

If you are running a FX 5200 that very well could be your problem, computers are weird moody machines and software is even worse. Obviously it works for just about everyone so it is being picky about your hardware, the most logical place to start is your graphics card. This game is a bit of a stress even on the o/c'ed and watercooled 7900gt I have. Granted its with everything on high but still, it goes to show what kind of hardware is needed to run this right.
I know many people are stuck with older hardware but at some point they have to say ok we cant keep on writing software that works with everything older because we are limiting the people that have the high end systems. I would say its about time for a upgrade anyway. I dont think you will be able to run anything brand new by next year with that card.

Well I updated the drivers today, and DirectX. Bf2 still works in low mode.
BF 2 is the worst possible example to take for getting rid of bugs. EA/Dice really dropped the ball on patches for BF 2, and they know it. In WoW and other games, it doesn't take all that long for them to fix bugs. Even then, "Too many bugs to count"? Do you mean, more like, "I can't count past 3"? The only bugs I know of is the red/blue bug (I've only experienced it once), the bug where missiles don't hit (again, rarely experienced), and the server crashes/lag glitch exploits (and those are caused by bad connections, not by the game). I've also heard of some instances where, say, they get the reloading sound, but not the graphic and it doesn't reload at all, but I've never experienced those myself, and are quite possibly due to a poor gaming system. Oh, and as for 1.4, they're probably delaying it to make sure that this time, they finally get it right.topthrill05 wrote:

Missiles still go through vehicles and have you ever had the squad bug? That might be the worst bug in the game. You refer to other games and you are right they smooth things out quickly. Really though look at BFV now BF2 and now 2142 isn't looking much better. And those other games that seem to smooth out nicely aren't being handled by EA/DICE. I will bet that there will be CTD just like 1.3 in the release of 2142.
And to those who say "It's just a beta". Hahaha you guys must be in denial that this game will turn into a big fat 1.3 game.

Hey... even 1.3 isn't that bad. Most of the time, you get what you paid $50 for (count how many bug-free rounds you have to rounds with bugs, and you'll get my point). Oh, and a beta IS A ****ing BETA! It's fresh out of alpha, and a lot of the problems are popping up because people have different systems with different hardware and software. Missiles hit 99% of the time, I've never experienced anything resembling a nasty squad bug (a few hours ago, though, the squad tabs were not functional so I was stuck as a lone wolf for a while).
