Okay, I need some help

I was downloading some programs off of Limewire (limewire is basically Ares, or morpheous, or kazaa, etc.) and some off them were viruses and Norton Anti-virus caught them, but then i had to turn norton off for a few seconds to get something runnning, but the thing is i forgot to put Norton back on so all the files i downloaded go thru, some possibly virus.

So noticing my stupidity i turned norton on and did a virus scan finding one virus.

this is what it says on the virus properties:

Virus name: Trojan Horse
Computer: ---
User: Trevor
Action Taken: Left Alone
Status: Infected
Current Location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\
Date Found: 21/08/2006
Scan Type: Manual Scan
Set action: Clean virus from file

I haven't found anything its done to my cpu really, except for I've noticed i cannot open task manager (the thing that opens when u press alt+ctrl+del) and cannot find another way to open task manager

If anyone has any idea of this virus and has ANY info on it or what to do please post or pm me, much appreciated

the best thing to do is : Recovery to your system... youll be sure everything is okay and you reinstall bf2 and all your stuff

Get HijackThis, start in safe mode. Run it. Identify all the elements added by crappy viruses. Remove them.

Yada yada. Can fix most problems this way.

I would use something called AVG you get it from Download.com and its free always gets rid of unwanted stuff for me.

you should use an IRC client like mICR or something much better and faster. I found it doesn't lag my games either

\/\/00t, i downloaded hijackthis, and did a scan check, and repaired wutever it was that was messed, now my task manager opens and everything looks fine

Yes.. get mIRC.. and then continuously clean out the crap on your PC from IRC bombs etc. etc..

Task manager is alright, but XPprocess is a lot better and gives you better and faster control over your system resources, Google and download it. The only time you should have to turn your internet security off is to download keygens/cracks or to view streaming porn. The tip here is use firefox to download the keygens and turn the antivirus on straight away and virus check, you will have 1 or 2 virus/Trojan/spyware normally. Streaming porn is more difficult, just have one browser open and make sure the site is legit. Other sites that ask you to turn off the anti virus are taking you for a ride and to be honest you only have yourself to blame. If using P2P don’t download wmv ever 9 times out of 10 it will have spyware imbedded in it

Well just saying it's a Trojan Horse doesn't give us much info. Search on Norton/Symantec and it'll give you info about the virus and it's risk level, and what it can do to your computer.
