Wow I guess the cool thing to do is DDoS the community sites. I mean, what better thing could anyone possibly be doing on a Friday night? Damn all those people who are trying to provide public services via the internet! THEY'RE what's wrong with this country. They're the REAL terrorists! I don't know how but they are.chuyskywalker wrote:

that helped
Thanks
I hope you blast the DDOS ers. Happened to my site last year. Royal pain!!!

Err.. BF2S.com was never down, nor was it attacked. The NAMESERVERS which we used for BF2S.com were attacked, resulting in users like you not being able to resolve the BF2S.com domain.
thanks, thought it was my poxy bloody internet connection problems again..phew!
Thanks. BUT will my work Internet refresh given time, as i still cant see the site at work. And i don't think they will clear it out so that we can surf bf2s half the day, no matter how nice i ask them. (how long do you think i will have to wait!)
didn't know how much i surfed the forums until i couldn't.
Was on another forum site to try and get my fix today, a professional 'company' funded site, wasn't a patch on this, and the community wasn't nearly as active. keep up the good work the site is excellent.

I'm curious. The DNS servers were attacked -- was it a recursion attack (ie was it an open DNS server)?
Also, was the DDoS related? -- was it a DDDoS?

Well any moron who wastes time attacking a website with DDOS attacks is either a cyberpunk or some loser who has NO LIFE.......
Glad you got it straightened out,,,,love the site.....if you catch the dork let us know and we'll attack him back.....LOL

I've said it once and I'll say it again: The BF2s servers have a severe pie deficiency. Hence the recent problems
Ugh I realize that I wasn't the only one. :\

Sorry but can I be an arse and say you don't need to do a ipconfig/registerdns. The flush is enough...chuyskywalker wrote:
For the last few weeks BF2S' (that was weird to write) DNS host has been having some issues. Just recently things were complicated further due to a large DDoS attack. This has been causing all sorts of random downtime for various services around here. The culmination was mon/tues when the site was practically unreachable to most users.
We've installed and are running our own DNS servers now (Markimus is the man) and should no longer have any site access issues (at least, until I break some php for ya )
Sorry about the hassle -- for those in the know, you should clear out your HOSTS file now.
When your ISP's nameservers re-cache the new nameserver settings for BF2S.com, you'll find there are no longer any resolving issues. If you're impatient and you'd like to attempt to clear your local PC cache, do the following:
Go to Start > Run. Enter in cmd. At prompt, type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter. Then, type "ipconfig /registerdns" and hit enter. Close all of your browser windows and have at 'er.
Who would want to DDoS the lovable bf2s.com?
Ill bet it was those bastards at Bf2e!!
DAMN YOU!!!!!!!
