Some weeks ago AMD stated that they're not going to develop this software where several cores act as one core to external software like games etc.Canterwood wrote:

And the bad thing is AMD's next comeback will be their 4 x 4's (2 dual core chips in one). Since the amount of apps and games that even support dual core alone are far and few between I can't understand why they would be heading this way.
And there's one more mistake in this quote: AMDs 4 x 4 isn't 2 dual core chips in one, it's 2 dual core processors (e.g. two FX-62) on one motherboard. Not very economic and it's not going to get many buyers.
Simply reason: people got no clue about what they're talking about.Kmarion wrote:
How there can be so many AMD votes blows my mind. The benchmarks are very clear.

Umm i havent heard anything about reverse hyper threading being cancelled, but i dont doubt you. As for 4x4 you have it wrong as well, quad core quad cpu. Just so you know.fierce wrote:

amd is way better but intel is good to
3 months ago, it would have been AMD, no brainer. But the Intel conroe has now sufficiently curb stomped anything AMD has or will have for at least 6 months.
I have been with Intel since the begining. I currently have a 3.0 Gig P4 630 and it has impressed me so I will continue to use Intel until I'm dead.....
I've always leaned towards Intel because of the catchy tune in their commercials.

No doubt that it's two dualcore processors on one motherboard.

Intel's core 2 extreme proc is the best one out there at the moment, however if you want nvidia's SLI or
ATI's crossfire, AMD's socket AM2 (or socket 939) is the way to go
ATI's crossfire, AMD's socket AM2 (or socket 939) is the way to go
Advanced Micro Devices are winning this one.
In all honesty, I'd have to say Intel. AMD is better for gaming but Intel is better for everything else. The other big plus for Intel is the fact that it comes with the cooling system. That's why AMD is cheaper, and if you want a good cooling system you need to pay the big bucks, with the Intel, you get the cooling system you need for just about anything you do on the computer, that's why I choose Intel.
ahh why is amd winning? lol
my comp sci friend told me intel just brought out something that smashes amd processors (and hes a amd fan)Maj.Do wrote:

then again, its not processor speed that lags a computer anyways =/
