...that has afflicted your computer.

I mean annoying ones BTW, not the lock your computer and delete all your files (though do feel free to share stories regarding the wiping of your computer)

For me, it has to be DoubleClick.

I couldn't get rid of this bastard until I installed Spybot Search and Destroy (recc.) and it really pissed me off. The title explains it, it makes a single click on your behalf turn into a double click. Imagine that when trying to go back a page!!

I really wish the mum of the guy who made this made him leave the basement and get milk before he became a socially deficent internet geek.....

Anyone else?

Its not spyware... but the most annoying program is Norton IS 2006

... i get more popups with that then i do with any other spyware infections

The most annoying thing for me is adware in general. The ones giving me pr0n ads (probably full of viruses) even when I'm not connected to the net. So when I'm playing something on my comp, it'll minimize, take 3 mins show the ad, I close the ad and it takes another 3 mins to resume my play.

Norton Antivirus, damn thing would suddenly start scanning causing major lag if i'm in game and whould somethines cause a CTD for no apparent reason, i use ZoneAlarm now though way better.

Bloody Bargain Buddy, thing pissed me off to no end, and the most annoying program for me is zone alarm, It crashed my computer and fucked up my Internet!

Ooh, and then there was this one time that I clicked on something, and it opened front page and started doing stuff, I shit myself, because I was searching for a bot for runescape [Yes, laugh it up] which is notorious for having loads of fake programs that are key-loggers, I assumed it was and got all paranoid and started feeling really guilty, ya see, I always assume the worst, like a credit card would be stolen or something, then we got the computer formated, because at the same time, zone alarm was rooting my PC too!!

I know this may sound strange but my computer has never been affected by adware such as this. Only the regulars that like to pop in everytime I scan.

Maybe there is some sort of super-virus biding his time to pwn me horribly.

If you have a problem with Norton then change the fucking setting around. Im sick to death of removing spyware and trojans cause guys turn'd there Norton/McAfee off, never updatted it, never purchased it etc etc..
Or my favourite,,but it told me to turn the firewall off before i download ? what were you downloading sir ? err just a game for my kids,,,Really is that why theres five pop ups ranging from Filthy Young things to Your Computer Maybe Already Infected !!!

I have Norton running and I get zero popup, zero spyware/adware/malware/trojans and I download a frightening amout. Set your scans to times when your not using the pc, like 5am and turn the automatic updates off but still update once a week

Its always good to have a couple of different adware removal programs cos you will find that some will find what the others miss.

I've noticed that Zonelabs causes a lot of crashes and system hangs.

The most annoying nasty piece of shit spyware i got created a lil icon in the taskar bottom right of screen that
kept telling me "Your PC has been infected with Spyware - click here to remove it". When I clicked on the icon it went to some POS wesite that "scanned" my HDD for free and showed me where it was and stuff, but then I had to "buy it" to get rid of it. In between all this, pop-ups and ads kept appearing. Nortons wouldnt kill it, and neither would Adaware. The damn rhing kept "changing" its appearance too in registry. In the end I formatted and re-installed XP BASTARD WANKERS

On my old rig i had one that was tracking keystrokes. And another one that was taking a pisture of my screen every few seconds or so and sending the pic to who knows where.

teh most annoying would have to be teh one i got back in Nov. Caused everything to sloooooooow way down. the annoying part about it is i was 3/4 through the single player of FEAR and i had to reformat.
