Your mac adress is in your hardware, you can't just change it without getting different hardware. MAC adresses are universal, you won't get two of the same unless if someone f'ed up at the factory, so there's another reason why you can't change it.--->[Your]Phobia<--- wrote:

There are ways to circumvent PB hardware bans.

That's not a monopoly you idiot. Like you said, they're the only anti-cheat company so they CANT be a monopoly with no other possible competition for them to take over. The only other major anti-cheat is VAC, made by Valve. VAC is for Steam games. PunkBuster is for other games.bravo3_1/22 wrote:

EDIT: Well I'm wrong, it's a 'natural' monopoly. Not a monopoly caused by laws or buy-outs, but caused because nobody has attempted to do as good a job as EvenBalance and Valve. There are some third-party anti-cheats such as Cheating-Death, but those aren't AC companies so much as just add-ons for the game.

There are also loads of utilities. Also once you have changed it, its inevitable they are referred back to the original ones in the hardware after reboot.

Use the check spelling button and come up with a cohesive, well thought out argument. I understand what you mean about a "monopoly"(hey, look, I can spell it right). BUT IT REALLY ISN'T ONE. Mononpolies take over other small buisnesses and large ones and come to complete control of an entire (horizontal) industry. The problem is, as many have stated, my self included, that there is no alternative to punk buster. And I'm am almost certain they banned you and your friend for doing something that violates the PB terms of service. Does the system make a mistake once in a while? Yea sure, no system is flawless but I'd venture to guess that 99.9% of the players w/ hardware bans deserve them.
