Guitar or Drums.
Thanks to the person who randomly picked me to give -1 to because they got -1!

Guitar, but only if I could play like Satch someday.
I don't mean to insult Satch or anything, but a lot of his songs aren't really that hard to play if you sit down and learn them.
I'm not trying to brag either, or anything like that, but what really makes Satriani special is that he understands Ionian, Phrygian, Dorian, Mixolydian and all the other modes of scales. This allows him to write such awesome pieces off the top of his head. Same with Vai. If you've seen either of them sightread notes (not tabs, but notes) they do it so smoothly because they have the feel of each scale. When they improvise, they know what sounds good and what doesn't and how to combine all that together. Satriani also uses the Pitch Axis Theory to it's best to produce such awesoem sounds.
However, once someone else has written them playing them yourself isn't the hardest thing on the planet.
Just a little note. I still do worship Satch though, so don't think I'm trashing him or anythnig.
Another thing; if you want to learn any sort of pitched instrument and play it well, learn piano. Not a full 8-grades of Royal Academy piano lessons, but learn the basics and learn music theory. There's nothing that can compare to how much that helps you in every instrument you'll learn to play. I mean, I've been playing piano for 10 years and I recently stopped as the lessons got in the way of my academics/athletics, but it helps your musical sense so much. I picked up the guitar and taught myself what my friend took three years to learn, in a few weeks. I taught myself the clarinet in a month or so. I taught myself the cello in about a month. Piano really, really helps you. I've recently gotten back to playing my synth again after hanging out with Trisdee (Thailand's #1 pianist) and I've even started learning the Harpsichord.
I play guitar, bass and some drums, would like to play drums better!
Guitars FTW!!!! I play guitars in my band if you guys want to listen it's http://www.pfeffer-rocks.de. Sorry it's in german. To the guy mentioning guitar is superior to bass: It would be no fun for me not to have such an awsome bass player in my band as I have. I enjoy listening to him as well as playing bass my self!
wooten would slap you.jermyang wrote:
why do you guys like bass? it's not all that interesting
bass is only an instrument because if there were no bass, then music would sound bad, but i assume most people think guitar is more fun, solos and stuff
bass solos never sound as good as guitar solos, NEVER.
besides, if you know guitar, you know bass.
