IMO. The best band of all time. 'The Wall' best album ever, although 'Darkside of the Moon', 'Meddle' and 'Wish You Were Here' are bloody great too.

Best Songs (in order):

Is There Anybody Out There?
Shine on You Crazy Diamond (Parts One & Two)
Time
Wish You Were Here
Nobody Home
Echoes
Another Brick In The Wall
Mother
Goodbye Blue Sky

I'm a younger guy and I hate emo and love Pink Floyd... I'm one of the few who watches "The Wall" and enjoys it without being on drugs!

Comfortably Numb FTW!

Can't think of the song they have which sounds like elevator lounge music in the beginning... but 'One of these Days' is probably one hell of a song to go play with BF2 at like... Iron Gator, or an intense firefight at Mass Destruction once time duration 2:25 - 3:12 hits, best 47 seconds of glory right there indeed!

u are teh uber n00bz!!! and u should die for calling them gay.

they are an 80s rock band, very good stuff, kinda like dire straights, they were an inspiration for some modern rock

I am a huge Pinky Floyd fan. The Wall is my favorite album. It is truely amazing because it is so much more than music, its a story. Roger Waters walks that fine line between genius and insanity. David Gilmour is one of my favorite guitarists of all time. He plays every note flawlessly. the movie is equally good, and I'd recommend not watching it on drugs, its pretty disturbing.

best set of songs ever. Pink's transition into insanity:

Mother > Goodbye Blue Sky > Empty Spaces > Young Lust > One of My TUrns > Don't Leave me Now

also very good is Comfortably Numb > The Show Must Go On > In the Flesh > Run like Hell > Waiting for the Worms

its all about the vocal harmonies, they are so good.

Actually, they've been around since the late 60's. When they were fronted by the mad genius that is Syd Barrett.

Anyone dig Syd?

I love Floyd. One of my all time favorites, up there with Hank Williams, Black Sabbath and The Beatles.

Hey CameronPoe, where was your inclusion of Comfortably Numb?? Best guitar solo ever, not for complexity, but it sounds so god damn good. One of the best songs in the world, no doubt. Taught myself to play it.

I'm so glad my parents brought me up on good music.

Until last year I knew Pink Floyd for one song only - the wall. I watched them on TV last year preforming at Live 8, they were on stage in Hyde Park (london) about 11/12pm, apparently the 1st time they played together in decades?? Anyway, I was well impressed, I didnt know they were that good or so well liked. As my sig sugests I like a smoke and this lot seem a smokers band.

Comfortably Numb, although good, has been overplayed so much I eventually got sick of it. No matter how much the other stuff gets overplayed though I don't seem to get sick of it for some reason.

Yeah, Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands of all time. I listened to a couple of their albums, including The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon. They are awesome and inspiring.
I love the bass line from "Money". I can play it myself.
Roger Waters came to Moscow last Saturday, but I couldn't go to the show. My friend who was at the concert says it was unbelieveably amazing.

So I take it that no one's into the Syd Barrett years, or his solo stuff?

Ever wonder who the songs 'Wish you Were Here' and 'Shine on you Crazy Diamond' are about? That's right, they're about Syd.
