As many of you may know, myself and another member of the forums (pWa_Recon) work together and live fairly close, so we're pretty good friends. Well, Recon got a new toy a while back and finally got a chance to play with it:

OHHHH Buddy!! Such fun it is. If you haven't shot an AK, then you haven't shot a real gun. That thing was awesome and the scope and bi-pod made it all the more enjoyable. The only downside is that we went before I had to come to work today, so here I am sitting in my cubicle covered in gunpowder.

Sorry, Recon, had to show them, it's...just.....to......awesome...

Nice stick. I've shot a few AKs, but never with a scope and bipod. I'm sure it was fantastic fun, but wouldn't it have been more enjoyable AFTER work?

we shoot 300m open sight without any stupid scopes ........try to do that and hit your target

Interesting set up. I've fired an AK, but it was modified to be Semi-Automatic only, no pistol grip, only ten shot magazine... sucks to live in NZ...

sweet. I had a standard ak, bought it preassault ban, it was pretty beat up tho. by the time i was done with it, the reciver fell out. still got 50.00 for it tho. only good thing bush has done lol.

I've never fired any gun. Ever. It's not by choice though. My mom used to be really against them and when I was younger she did pretty much everything she could to keep me from being around them. No bb guns, airsoft, nothing.

Anyway, I've heard it's a good way to take out aggression and everything. I'll get around to it eventually, starting with a pistol or something small. I don't even know how to go about doing it...

Meh, I could out shoot you with any gun, anywhere, anytime.

The scope, the bipod, all that stuff is there for comfort and style. I doubt very seriously if he goes to gun ranges and tells people, "lol, i could out shoot you with my uber AK.". He spent the money for the AK and as far as I'm concerned, he can have fun with it anyway he see's fit. Ohh, and one more thing, most sniper rifles used by countrys that buy russian equipment are modified AK-47's.

BTW, I shot expert 3 out of 4 times I had to qualify in the military. The one time I didn't was because my POS M16 jammed and I ran out of time. So anytime you wanna go shoot, let me know.

Your better off starting out with shotguns then moving into rifles. I would try pistols last.

Yeah it semi-auto, fully auto weapons are illegal in the U.S. unless you have some uber FBI license or something. Kick and power aren't much like you said, but it sure is fun to shoot.

Boo! Take that scope off and remove the bipod! The AK is an assault rifle, don't ruin it!
Otherwise, a nice and well preserved piece of Kalashnikov you got there.

Still like the Sako RK62 7.62 better..

Those are AK-47's with extended barrels. IOW's, sniper rifles.

Ever heard of an SVD? It's mostly an AK-47, highly highly modified of course.

the draginov is not simply an ak-47 with a longer barrel it has a different bolt and reciever and the barrel longer is chromed inside.. also it can accept the standard 7.6 but is intended to use the 7n1 round

your friends ak is the 5.56 ?

Well, I've shot a .357...That was NOT cool, wasn't exepecting that kind of recoil...Then I shot a 38 year old....38 special...Much more my speed, though I can't hit crap. Oh and when I went to my uncles house bla bla bla, I shot a .270 and hit just out side the bullseye...TWICE. NOW do I get a cookie?
