Since about 7th or 8th grade I've been seriously considering joining the military (currently I'm going into the 10th grade and I'll be turning 16 before school starts back up).
When summer started, I signed up for a mini-boot camp that my JROTC class (marines) had been giving us an opportunity to go to and I decided I'd give it a go. It was only a week long (I know its nothing compared to the 11-13 week boot camp) but up until that point, I had been set on joining the Army because I wanted to go into the Special Forces (no certain decision on an MOS in SF).
And now I'm not exactly sure since that mini-boot camp had motivated me to join the Marines as well.
I know I've still got a few years, but, for the military members out there, I'd like to know about your personal experience in either of these branches (if you were in either) so I can find out from real answers instead of a recruiter's (haven't actually spoken with one but I hear again and again about how much they "manipulate" their answers).
I'm also not sure on whether I should go enlisted or officer since I have a definate oppurtunity to go to college (the current courses I'm taking will allow me to have my assosiates before I get out of high school if I get the grades right) yet enlisted soldiers get more of the "experience" as far as I know.
Please opinions only from the people who have had the personal experience in these two military branches (or any other if you had involved yourself in them somehow).
