OK, I only ask this because I received a letter from the government telling me an employee took home electronic data from the VA. His home was burglarized and the info was stolen.(saw it on the news)
Maybe everyone got one? Eh... anyway
Back in 1993 I went to boot camp for the USAF. I had 8 days till graduation and I failed the 1.5 mile run by like 30 seconds. Come to find out, I have a form of muscular dystrophy. I was handed an Entry Level Separation.
Now I know the Government keeps all records of everything but would that technically make me a veteran?
If so, it would be an honor but it wouldn't mean anything. I have never fought in a war or did anything deserving of such an honoring title.
The time I spent although very little was a great experience and if they'd let me I'd do it again.
Unfortunately for me... That was going to be my career Well we all have dreams that get shot down once and a while.
Anyway... maybe someone here knows exactly the information I want to know?
Am I a veteran?
I don't consider myself one but does the government?
