Ok, all joking aside... we had fun last night, now lets be real... living in dallas, texas.... there are SOOOO many illegals here it is not even half way funny, now in my line of work, i don't have to worry about illegals taking my job (my job may get out-sourced to india, but that too is in the near future for all of us), but what about legal blue collar workers, construction works... people who WORK HARD legally... they have to fight for jobs at a fairly competive wage... because illegals will do the same work, same quality, for much less money. That is what concerns me.

Even with a wall up, YOU could leave at any time, it would just keep THEM out. I don't see how it would be a prison?

I'm not saying it would be a prison, but it would just feel like one. People put up walls to keep others out, but from the inside it looks pretty confining.

Also, I see what you mean about it since you live in Texas. It's not so bad here in Chicago. Honestly though, I'm pretty sure illegal immigrants work at most of the restaurants I go to. Flash Taco, Yang's...pretty much every ethnic restaurant. In their defense, they make damn good food. Better than any white person ever could. I know the only thing I'm good at making is like...burgers, hot dogs, and cereal.

You're right about immigrants working for less money and doing the same (if not better) quality work. However, I wouldn't want a lot of those jobs anyway. At the country club I used to work at, every one of our dishwashers was Mexican. One day one of them quit and we couldn't find anyone to fill in for him. Ads in the paper, internet, and posting signs did nothing. It wasn't until one of the other dishwashers told his friend that we had someone to work there.

So although yes, illegal immigrants might be taking the jobs of us whitefolk, many of those jobs are ones I wouldn't want to work anyway, especially for such low wages.

I went to school in Canada for four years. Have you any idea how much of a pain it is to move between the two countries? Even with a student visa and American passport, everything of mine was still searched. Everything I had was either scanned or taken apart.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather be safe than sorry, but there are even limits to that.

agreed, i do not want a job that most illegals work, however, if i had to feed my children and i was out of work, i worked as a mason for 4 years before joining the military, i know what hard work is, and i would gladly do it again if it had to be done. again, i would not want to wash dishes in the kitchen of a dinner, or clean the crapper in taco bell or cook in the kitchen of pei wai, but if i had to feed my kids... i would work at every last one of these places to feed them and keep them in a clean home with enough living space for each of them. so if that means expelling the 12 million plus illegals, from various countries ( not just mexico mind you, we have illegals in america from everywhere, however mexico is the main "importer" of illegals ) so someone who is down on their luck and out of work who is a legal be it US born or immigrant can find a job, then so be it. send them all home and let them come back in the correct fashion, like my grandparents did. Yes, i may be US born, however my grand parents came to this country in 1938(grandfather) and 1941(grandmother)... so i too am a descendant of immigrants, i don't hate them, but they should have to do it correctly, like every other family in this country had to do at some point in its past, unless you are an american indian, like my wife.

True. I just don't see how it can be completely controlled. If people want in this country so badly, they're going to get in.

If anything, I'd let the current illegal immigrants stay and just cut off anyone trying to come in for the future. That'd be a hell of a lot of people to deport.

Salas' in Lawton Oklahoma... the family has been here for 30 years, they make the BEST mexican food this side of the Rio.. and it is cheap, plus they are all legal.... now Chicago to Oklahoma... long haul... but man it is worth it LOL.
