Hot Pockets. (for the love of God DON'T put these idiotic options in, it's "Debate and Serious Talk" FFS)
i think power fits in status. hot pockets cause war because everybody wants them and it leads to mass chaos, especially in the T'lavoija tribes of Africa.Friluftshund wrote:
Why isn't "power" in there?
Reasons to go to war are more complex than any of those choices..
But no war is fought over religion - do not ever believe it!
You guys DO know that Hot Pockets are the leading cause of international hostilities? Such nooble cakes...didn't even know...

well most wars in ancient time was defitnantly for land (romans and ghenkis khan), but now i think its more of reputation and power, and sometimes oil... ppl say bush invaded iraq for oil, bullshit. if he did then why are the oil prices increased over the past few years... jets, hummers, tanks and helicopters need oil... but gulf war 1 was about oil. there was a conspiracy theory that the US helped kuwait coz kuwait gave US oil for X numbers of years.
it really depends on a certain period of time..

And the Romans? the northern regions are cold, the southern regions are warm - being from the south I shouldt hink they didn't try a take-over of germania and brittain on account of its warm and sunny weather..
Nope - land leads to status which leads to power...
You mention the Gulf War (There has only been one - the other one was an invasion of one country) being because of oil, but the invasion isn't?
And as supportive argument you propose that the invasion has caused oil-prices to rise. Well, you can probably see the logic if you were the head of a nation that depends on oil very, very much - a dependence which won't go away anytime soon. You have a couple of options:
- You can deal with the countries producing oil and buy from them.
- You can produce yourself.
- You can invade and take the oil without paying for it.
If you can't produce enough by yourself you don't have a choice, you have to do business with someone. The problems arise if you think that the guy selling you oil might suddenly decide not to sell it anymore, end perhaps get some of his buddies to also stop selling you oil..
Then you have to invade...
Prices rise because of uncertainty in the market and most importantly because the suppliers can't produce enough oil thus the demand is greater than the supply - very much so infact.
This drives the price up. (which is a good thing for the countries producing and selling oil )
I agree
dont hate on hot pockets lol
Hot pockets.
According to one conspiracy theory, the real culprits behind 9/11 actually attempted to bring oil rich Mexico into the "war on terrorism" with a botched terrorist attack on the Mexican Parliament building one month after 9/11. The motive - to induce Mexico into providing cheap oil to it's protective northern neighbour.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

Loads of things but I voted for religion.
Resources (Oil etc.)
Money and freedom etc.

Money and freedom etc.
so the conspiracy is implying that theyve wasted a billion dollars worth of buildings and aircraft just to have some oil?thanks_champ wrote:

No, it's implying that those responsible were trying to get Mexico to supply cheap oil for the war on terrorism, or the "war on Israels enemies" as it's referred to in this particular theory.
The gist of the conspiracy is that Zionists have hijacked the US by controlling the media and the pentagon (amongst other things), and deceived the US into using it's military to fight for their own goals.

War is now a produkt of "policing" ather stats
voted for resources, because this will be number one reason in future.
Maybe earlier wars where started on status(land who beat other nations to get respect from other nations), but now a days I believe that the only thing that can start a really huge wars is a mixture of Religion and terror.
Religion: Example: A danish paper published a drawed picture of muhammed, and just like that every muslim had a reason to hate scandinavians. Even norwegian Red cross camps where attacked! Hello! Why cant they just publish a drawing of jesus instead?
Terror: the war in irak and afganistan(dont now how to write that in english) where started to get terrorists. Yeah yeah Saddam and all that crap! Oil and the war on terroism is my believe.
