unless the A10 is going 12 MPH not happening
its possiable just b4 take off park the tank in front of it, it takes 180+ bullets to kill it.
I have actual effect video somewhere of an A10 takin out a T-72 with it's gun... i'll have to find it. I've got spectre video too...

i havent had much air time yet. and when i did was crashing sorta of on to some pole's or gettin AA in my turbine. needa get some practice in. i had several good bomb runs though. used the cannon to loosen targets up..i would say its really only 15% more powerful then the fulcan on the fighters..................................

Yeah,and the GAU shoots 80 rounds per second....but once again,game balance has to remain,if the A10 were like it's in real life I would demand real life-like sniper rifles.Erwin_Rommel188 wrote:

I took out an enemy AA vechile on road rage with the cannon only, just as he nailed me. But seen as there were a couple of friendly tanks right by it and I only fired about a 2 second burst I presuming it was already rather damaged

I'm no military expert...but I've seen Mail Call! so forgive me if my info is wrong here but...
Isn't the A-10 cannon precisley what is used to kill tanks? isn't it that big nasty bastard of a cannon that enemy tanks fear? I know it has bombs, but from what I saw those were mostly used for anti-personnel and the cannon for tanks.
again I base this off of one ep. of Mail call so if anyone knows better feel free to set me straight...
If they made the A10 as powerful as it is in RL, no one would get in tanks. Everyone would switch to the American side and continuously TK for it.
Don't forget the a real A-10 is as close to a flying tank as it gets. It can lose an engine, a third of each wing, and I think it was 70% of the tail section and stay airborn. The pilot sits in what in what is basically a big titanium bucket and is fairly safe from anything short of an AA missile. The bottom of the plane was design to survive belly landings (no landing gear) The cannon will indeed rip a tank a new one and damn quick. Depleted uranium shells show just that kinda of love. There's other ordnance that will impact into a tank a then send molten shrapnel in quite a large spread. In theory, a single shell from that beast of a gun (the gun itself runs about halfway through the entire plane) could incapacitate a tank. It was scheduled to be retired but because the aircraft is, by comparison anyway, cheap to make, upgrade, maintain, and commands immense respect in the USAF, it's still around. I've been a fan of the plane since I first sat in one during an air show in 91' and I still want to fly one. The plane is a powerful legend.

i killed a tank with an a-10 the first night the game came out... but i already dropped bombs on him and grazed him, caught him on the second pass..... but yeah, it doesn't do much damage, a little more would be nicer

My friend i tested out the dmg in an empty server. We found out that the cannon can indeed take out a tank in one pass, going full speed. The big problem i've noticed is people are missing thier shots you have to accomodate for the massive drop and keep it steady on the target. I'll try and fraps it. AA guns/APC are easy to kill gun only.
