Generals didn't have any FMVs which was very un-C&C. Plus there was something wrong with the gameplay itself. Don't get me wrong, Generals was a good RTS, but something was missing, something that made it undeserving of being a C&C. To this day I still don't know what this mystery ingredient is, but whatever it is, EA failed to bring it into Generals. Which is why I try to keep my expectations for Tiberium Wars from becoming too high.
the downfall of generals was because is was made souly by EA if westwood did all the animations it would of been far better i also really missed the Taunts hopefully they'll all be back in 3

RA1 was by far the best of the series - it was balanced and fair (and was the first game I ever owned ). RA2 just plain sucked, and I have lots of reasons for that!
Cant wait for C&C3....loved the 1st one, despite never owning it.
I just hope EA dont ruin it, and brand it "C&C" like they did with Generals and ZH.
