I installed an ATI Radeon X700 Pro a couple of weeks ago.I had a problem getting it to work on my computer but I finally got it.I thought all was well until I powered the computer down one night, woke up the next morning, went to turn it on and the monitor would not come on.Then I plugged the monitor cable into the main monitor port from the motherboard and it came on.I tried to change some configs then all of a sudden the monitor shut off.So I plugged into the X700 and the monitor came on.Now this as happened about 4 or 5 times now.My guess is the X700 isn't warm enough yet to come on??Also there is no outlet for the card to run off the PSU so I don't think it's a power problem. If any one has any suggesstions I would be forever grateful!!
Unless you live somewhere insanely cold, like the depths of space, you card should not be too cold to power on. You might try disabling your on board video in the bios, but be warned if you do this and then your card fails, you will have to reset your cmos in order to get a working display again. It sounds like it could be a conflict between your on board graphics and the card itself, causing one or the other to stop working.
You might also update your bios to the latest version. If you're unsure of how to do this there should be instructions in your motherboard's manual and on your motherboard manufacturers website.
