Whenever students get away with anything, people are like "where's the teachers, other staff?" Then when someone actually does something you see a bunch of dismissive comments about whatever the situation was short of weapons being drawn.

My current employer countered with a director role, $20k more salary than the offer I signed, and a new reporting structure where my direct report is someone in Taiwan instead of the clown I currently report to.

If they came back with that offer a week ago I would have seriously considered staying. You snooze, you lose.

They also tried to strong arm me by saying I had to make the decision by tomorrow at 9am. Ok, simple- I appreciate the offer but decline. Sorry!

I am happy for you but you could have used that $20,000 to pay for yacht club fees.

Extra money to stay rarely works, the same irritations and frustrations remain.
I think four years in any company is about right.

Hopefully my company is about now realising how much work and delay they have on their plates having booted me.

I did that and more, looking after the people around me and not being a groveling sycophant is probably what got me cancelled.

Everyone knows this, including the CEO, whether he gives a shit I don't know. He can't be in any doubt the managers are shitbags because I laid it all out for him. I'm hoping they now lie to him about it.

Besides free money it was nice to get out of the house and use the workshop machines - the workshop manager has said I can come and use them under the radar.

I knew it was going to be shit when the new GM took over, I worked for him before and knew he was a colossal cunt - I used those exact words to describe him to the retiring GM, which disappointed him a little as he saw his legacy turning to shit.
Should probably have quit at that point but the money was too easy and him being an ADHD cretin I knew he wouldn't be interested in the business unit I was working on so I'd have complete freedom - which I did for a year which was nice.

As expected he acted like a complete cunt, I may break him just for that - which I can do.
I'm hoping he/his family buys out the business unit, then they'll be ruined.
I'll give it a year and see what happens, I think its all going to turn to shit without my help.
