I deal with black people really well. I have tremendous amounts of patience for them. The trick is to elevate yourself above them mentally and suddenly it all becomes entertainment.

so far the only people from my graduating year who went down the 'postgraduate certification in teaching' path to end up teaching 14 year old brats are the maternal-and-average girls or the need-a-plan-and-have-no-direction guys. one of my close friends is doing a PGCE right now and he's also still going clubbing every week and doing a lot of hard drugs. he's the only one still in that pattern of undergraduate partying behaviour... and, because of financial incentives and "well what else can i do?" syndrome, he's going through training to teach inner-city kids how to read 'of mice and men'

probably because 60-70% of the job time is spent doing non-teaching stuff, and the pay is about 3x as high. also you're teaching/reading/writing/learning at an 'adult' level, that satisfies your own intellect... rather than constantly trying to present everything for a 13 year old.

There are varying levels of 'adult level' though aren't there?also you're teaching/reading/writing/learning at an 'adult' level, that satisfies your own intellect... rather than constantly trying to present everything for a 13 year old.
