Hey everyone,

I was hoping I could get some quick help with this. I would do it myself but I havent built a PC in years so I am out of the loop as to what is and isnt good. My parents PC recently went down and I wanted to upgrade it for them in the $300-$500 range and they really just need RAM, Motherboard, and CPU....

Anyone want to give me some ideas? I really need to do this soon as they need the comp for business purposes and what. Needs to be the absolute best bang for the buck if possible and hopefully last them for years to come but like I said, I just have no clue what to even look for or what is good.

Thanks for the help in advance,

Just an idea, change out the hdd though, didnt see that it was recertified. There is room to play around a bit too, especially if you can use parts from the old one.

If you only need CPU/Mobo/RAM

8GB of RAM may be a bit overkill

Its my fault...I was cleaning it out from dust and when I put the CPU back in, it wasnt in all the way correctly and I bent pins on the CPU.

No, they have everything else. Just RAM, Motherboard, and CPU.

Best bang for the buck.

Assuming they're just doing emails/web browsing/word documents etc then a i3, 8GB RAM, H61 mobo will do the job. Since it's within the budget, if you want to you could throw an i5 in there, chances are they will never notice the difference though.
