Well when I tried it out a while ago it too like 2 rounds of the shells to get kills against infantry. I'll try it out again but the LMG is greater IMOm3thod wrote:

canister shell kills from miles off, you can even get them while they're poking there head out for a sneak look by just blasting at them and letting the radius do all work, plus you normally end up with a headshot bonus from as you hit everything.
I've taken out helos /transport vehicles with it in one go, you cant do that with the mounted LMG.
It's a one hit kill if you aim properly.

with citv lock guided is an auto disable on tanks I think, just follow up with a conventional round and game over. and yeah always 1 hit for choppers. and planes if you can get them locked up while they are going slow. also have your machine gunner equip javelins as they lock on to it too.
Ok guys I admit I was wrong about the canister shells. They rape at Short to medium range. The only drawback is I can't zoom snipe infantry like I can with the Lmg.

Any tips for 1v1 with tanks?
So far I have found with the guided missiles, if you can get on of those off fast, switch to normal rounds you will have them disabled within seconds. If you can get your front pointing towards the bad guy you generally win too. Simple and "obvious" I know, but it seems every time I come into a tank battle they leave their sides and rear exposed.

Ambush tactics work best, you never want to be in the full open when vsing another tank, try and position yourself behind some cover so you can drive out, fire and get back behind it quickly. Try to aim for the tracks and sides when possible as well. Obviously having someone you know as engineer being gunner and repairing you will be of untold welath, but if it's just you I would use maintenance.

4 man squads is so consolised, just in an average round of people from bf2s here joining each other we run out of squad space leaving jord to fend for himself

I always have to solo on PS3 because no-one seems to have any clue as to what is happening 99% of the time in vehicles.

just unlocked thermal optics. They're not useful as often as zoom optics are. I'd rather be able to stay far from the fight and get accurate hits than focus on close quarter anti-infantry.
Tanks are absolutely awesome in this game.
