it is 100% true, though. aside from nice 'beefy' sounds and some fancy animations, the guns are pretty much call of duty console fodder.

maybe if they didn't make the game a visual mess with 1px glimpses of helmet instakilling you from inside of a bush, IRNV wouldn't make so much of a difference

This game is simply too easy, has too many things to make it easier and also has IRNV.
It's easier to kill with the stock M16 than the F2000 IMO. M16 beats it at range.Uzique wrote:

and the Stock AK from BF2 was much better than the G36E

my point was that the stock weapons in bf2 were very powerful in the hands of anyone that could properly use them. the g36e was a very simple boomstick for anyone, even the first-time sf noob. my point is that most of the 'good' or decidedly 'op' guns in bf3 are basically the same style as the g36e: pick up and rape, not much more to it. there is no way that the m16, with its kick and comparatively obscure sights, is better than the f2000 in that regard. especially if you live by a 'no unlocks or gay scopes' purist rule, too. the f2000 is both easier to use and just as effective.

I'm just saying the M16 beats it at range which makes it a better gun to me. Short range F2000 wins but Medium - Long range I'd rather have an M16 in my hand.
and how often in bf3's 'everything on the head of a pin' maps are you really engaging people at long range? we're rarely talking distances like karkand hotel to square. single shot distances. 90% of the time you're in some claustrophobic assfuck, full-auto, spraying. f2000 rapes for that.

I found both of those guns pretty good, the AEK more so that the F2000, maybe I need to try it some more. When I decide I want to kill lots I find the M240 is better than either of those.
