I've been flying jets on BF2 with the 360 pad for years, it works alright on BF3. Pad is just as accurate as a proper joystick imo
Maybe I'm not used to it yet, but I've been gaming for years with a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and I find a joystick much more accurate and easy to fly with than a controller. I think part of it has to do with being able to make slight adjustments a lot easier with a bigger stick than with the tiny thumb-sticks on controllers.

I got the first upgrade (IR flares) merely by crashing my jet near a flag and snatching some capture assist points, a few spot assists, as well as a small kill assist in the end.

No but seriously has anyone found a way to be good with the F35 yet, and by good I don't mean stumbling onto a server that has ultra-shitty SU-35 pilots, so you get a false sense of...goodness. Like say you went up against fucking...the bestest pilot^^

I think I've maybe killed like 4-5 flankers 'legitly'. The way I found effective 1% of the time (the best percent that isn't you dying) is doing a straight dive to the ground then last second go into hover mode and kinda go back, so you effectively do a half loop.
The Flankers will struggle to keep guns on you when you've gone 'back under' them without risking a crash. So they'll pull out of the dive, rather than trying to follow you through half loop point. Then you're behind them and have a very small window to hit them with guns.
It works better on Oman when there's less airspace, on Wake it's more difficult.
Also generally trying to keep a lock on them with heatseekers, even if you don't get hits it keeps them in a defensive mindset, just try and stay as far away as possible. Use afterburners lots.
Hope that kinda makes sense. But as I say, I've only been able to pull off a 'real' kill 4-5 times against good Flanker pilots. The F35 really is just shit.

the problem with that kinda top gun manouver is on a game with 2 jets per team when you're hovering your dead within a second from the other jet, or some tank guy, or some stinger mong, or the heli

Only way to survive iwth the f35 is to hover when the guy is right behind you, so he shoots past you and you can chase him, but it works like 50% of the time.jord wrote:

If a guy is right behind you and hasn't killed with a half-second burst from the cannons, he's doing it wrong. Typically you slow down when you get behind someone anyway (or you'll cum too fast hurr derp), well I do, just gives you more time to react and better manoeuvrability. So any F-35 that decides to slow down when I get behind him just makes things worse.aerodynamic wrote:

I think he means when you spot them on air radar and try to lose them, it's a decent way to shake them if you aren't in the FOV when you do it.Mekstizzle wrote:
