I think they are on the up myself. You almost hint above that United seem to be on a downward curve at the moment. I hope not, I like Man Utd other than Cardiff and maybe Huddersfield they are my next team. They were my first ever team I saw live, but its the style that I like.Toilet Sex wrote:

I hope Man Utd flip the curve and climb again so that the Premiership becomes strong. With Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and then the rest all going for it.
I dont think it does any league any favours when its the same old, same old. England wont win the WC until the league becomes more competative with homegrown Englishmen.

i wouldn't say United are going down because to be honest we've been down for a couple of years now. we only won the league last season because nobody else won it if you know what i mean. we don't have a team which intimidates other teams any more, i'd say because fergie is in the process of building another team... not that it makes it any easier to take. it's frustrating but as a fan i just have to trust fergie to do what he does best again

I've thought for a while that Utd don't have amazing players, they've just played well as a team. Rooney and Ronaldo aside. You might put the Ferdinand/Vidic defence in that category, but they getting old and you can hear a lot of the rest of the team creaking as well.

I know what you mean by Man Utd won it last year because no one else did. That takes some doing that does: Building your team whilst still being successful. Very few people can do it.
Ashley Young was about £18m i think, so was de Gea... not certain though. Phil Jones was a similar amount too, so i think the money is there. with a club like United, there must be money available with or without the debt. they've said numerous time there's money available

Thing is with Fergie he's that good a manager he has won so many things with kids he has brought through, or bought through. Im sure he will do it again. You can probably look back to the group games and find a ref decision that cost United 1 goal that would of given them 3 points that night. Those 3 points could be what cost them.

I wonder if any of this has any reprocussions in the League Cup if Cardiff get to the Final. (only the winnder gets a Euro slot so maybe not, any extra Euro places goes to the next best league posistion I think).
