Depends on the pizza. You can have anything on a pizza, the important thing is to make sure the tastes compliment each other. With ham and cheese, pineapple goes quite well because ham is a fairly sweet meat and cheese is just awesome and goes with everything, (everything!) Other combinations with pineapple or even other fruit can work quite well too. However if you've got a pizza with spicy, bitter or otherwise savoury flavours, say it has a lot of salami or olives, then the sweet fruit taste is going to be out of place and isn't going to compliment the other ingredients, it will either overpower or distract from them. Basically with a pizza you don't want too much contrast.
