Massive nor'easter snowstorms knock the power out every winter. Longest was like a week ir so, we had to go stay at a hotel after the third day. Bought a generator next year

Longest I've been awake for is 4 hours. Most have been at night and never have I woken up with no power, so accurately measuring is impossible.
2-3 weeks
Can't remember exactly how long. Was the ice storm of '98

Few hours

londoners are damn lucky
I think like 2, maybe three days. It was after Hurricane Isabel. We also lost power for like two days in early June in like 2008, that wasn't fun. It was due to huge-ass storms.

there's usually at least one 1-2 day outage every year due to trees falling on lines or snow cutting the lines. The longest has been like 5 days maybe. Every proper storm also causes an outage.
then again this house is at the end of a 3 kilometer line in the middle of a forest.

in Alaska most houses have one to keep the heating running so people don't freeze inside
the heating is not dependent on electricity

1 month in a village with no electricity and a blackout that hit the northeast in 2003. the latter only lasted 12 hours or so.
