Yeah wouldn't it be cool if everyone could read your thread?
Ever think what would happen if we allowed that? EVERYONE one would post in chatter where they get the most exposure. It would completly defeat the purpose of having categories and sub-forums wouldn't it? Play by the rules.

I posted a link in this topic that might act as a guide. Unless your thinking of a full system upgrade look at the rest of you PC and see where to go from there. There are quite a few posts in the Tech section that will help, but try using sites like www.guru3d.com and www.tomshardware.com they have reviews and pretty comprehensive benchmarking that should give you an idea of where cards stand.

In all honesty the x300 is pretty gash these days. Depending on budjets 9800pro (£70-90), 6800 or x800 (120-180) are decent both appear in agp and pci-e formats.  Ebay is good place to buy if your wanting to save moeny. most people sell good quality 2nd hand cards.

X300 suxors. You would be a better player with a better graphics card(higher FPS). Get a 7800GT (PCI-E) or 7800GS(AGP).  As for the topic being in the chatter forum, who cares? Sure, it belongs in the Tech forum, but it's here and no one is going to move it. I can't believe no one even tried to answer the question.

EDIT: somebody did answer in post above mine while I was typing mine.

lets chill and not get into semantics about forum structure. The admins will move the posts if they need to and have done. Focus on your topic and the answer for them and ignore the people who state teh obvious. Maybe they jsut dont realise u might not be used to the way forums work. we've all been there (tho no that bad maself )

my pc is 2.8p4 512 ram . it used to have a 9800 pro 128mb version in it and i got 50-100 fps map depending with details set to low making the game wholly playble. this card cost me £90 about 9 months ago. If u had posted about 3 weeks ago i woulda sold u it as I bought a new card.

like i said try ebay, u can get really good cards for decent prices and if you can stretch maybe 20-30 bucks more on ur budjet u'd get a card that would last u a wee bit longer. i've seen 9800's go for £40 on ebay.u can get 6800gt/x800gto for about 130 and the 6800ultra/x800xt's for 150+. I got my X800XT Platinum for 175 inc P&P

i have an x800xl and is excelent with the games graphics.

i was running the game with everything set to high, but think i overheated the CPU, so have only a select few grphics on high now and the rest on medium.

EDIT: the graphics card should improve your gameplay somewhat, however your computer needs to be able to run the card. When i got my x800xl, my computer wasnt able to function when the graphics were set to anything above Low.
so you might want to think about getting a new computer if it is old and want better graphics.
