i have no idea what that is supposed to mean.

i've only eaten steak twice in my time, once it was rare/medium/whatever, gave it back to my mate and told him to cook this shit and the other in a hotel and got it well done to be on the safe side.

still dont see why people go on how great steaks are, i'd rather have a curry.

Medium-rare. That way, if it's over or under-done (rare or medium), it's still edible.
Likewise. I did try a fork from my bro's blue steak once, it actually tasted really good. Can't quite bring myself to order one though.

if you enjoy the taste of beef, which just isn't for everyone, a well cut rib eye or strip is hard to beat.  If all you've ever tried is flank and chuck, you've been deprived.  An inch thick, 16oz lip-on rib eye seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder, grilled over charcoal to medium rare and allowed to rest for 6 minutes is about the best goddamned thing ever invented.

I once had a steak that was only partially cooked, probably less than actual rare steak. It was real juicy, liked rare ever since.

I had a fried and breaded steak last night. Granted it was a low-end piece of junk from IHOP but that's all I can afford at the moment.

I love peter lugers sauce. Whenever I have it I like to put it on everything. Except my steak.

I like steak sauce sometimes...but, if the steak is seasoned well, there shouldn't be a need for any.

I went to a steakhouse with my ex for one of our anniversaries and asked for steak sauce. Keep in mind this was a $50 steak. She (the waitress) gave me the nastiest look ever. What a mistake that was.

What, the bit about the sauce? Obviously I don't mean something like A1 or HP. I think a well-made sauce can complement a tasty steak.

Negative ghost rider.

If you go to a top steak house do you know what they put on the steak? Some salt. Some pepper. And some clarified butter. Steak needs nothing else unless you: A) overcook it, or B) carve into it before it's had a chance to rest. In both cases, you got the dried out husk of a steak you so richly deserve. Feel free to slather on the A1 at that point.

meh

this place doesn't sound too bad despite committing the unforgivable sin of using sauce:

Yeah, they're a solid steakhouse. They do the whole 'wheel the steaks out to the table' bit. Best steak I've had was at Delmonico's on Wall Street. Went there for Restaurant Week and the prix fixe. Fantastic.

I haven't been to Mortons, I've been to a place around here called Ray's the Steaks that was excellent. I've also been to Fogo de Chao which isn't a traditional American steakhouse but still
