Meh, it's not Fox's fault. Fox is my source for news and it hasn't turned me into a brainwashed moron.

Huffingtonpost, the biggest online news blog with a very left slant, was just acquired by AOL. Reading the comments on the announcement article is interesting. Going by the comments alone it would seem there is going to be a mass exodus from the site now that they fell it's going to sink into a corporate hellhole.

The people who comment on articles are usually only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to visitors for news blogs so I don't think HP is going to disappear overnight but it is interesting to see their core and most dedicated visitors feel sold out and betrayed.

NASA will be restored to its glory.  From the mission statement that's been perverted by the 'global warming' bastads...

I don't mind all the gay marriage stuff, I just don't see why the gay community want to be so involved with religion/christianity etc..

They don't want you, they're not compatible with you. That's perfectly within their rights as a religious organisation. I don't even think religious gays exist. What the hell do they want a church etc.. for? It just creates unnecessary conflict

I don't see why all the athiests feel the need to marry in a church. Shit, you don't need to get married in a religious ceremony or establishment for it to be marriage. At least not over here.

When I meant all the atheists I meant all the typical gays. Cos I've yet to see a religious gay person.

Gays are mostly not religious at all, especially when it comes to following Christianity/Islam. On the flip side, Christianity/Islam (and most religions) are definitely anti-Gay, talk what you will about that but that's another topic in its own. There might be a minority of gays who feel the need to marry in a Christian ceremony in a Church, but I don't really understand it to be honest. Why want to be part of something that by and large hates you for what you are.

The article does say all it does is remove the ban on gays getting married in religious settings, so it doesn't force churches to do it and most will say no. So it's not that bad in the sense of government forcing churches to conduct gay ceremonies.

I just wonder if it's worth all the tension being created for what is probably a very small minority (religious gays)

On the various stages of atheism.

So far what I've come up with are:
1) Rebellion
2) Exploration of alternative religions
3) Agnosticism
4) Militant Atheism
5) Passive Atheism

I want to include personal stories from people who have made the journey, including how they arrived at the conclusion that there isn't any higher power out there.

It takes as much faith to decisively say there is no god as to say there is. I don't believe in god but I find it hard to say definitively that he does not exist.

That's great but it doesn't explain how you made a jump from calling yourself an atheist to calling yourself an agnostic unless you think the words are interchangeable or something.

O yeah and that logic is also flawed btw.
