Another thing you won't see much outside of the southern US
because you're more interested in FOOD

I see it quite a bit...

You live in the Midwest. When I say north, I mean the northeast. Around here they put Barq's root beer in it's place on menus/fountain stations.11 Bravo wrote:

sonic looked good in the tv commercials that taunted me for 2 years and then we got one in Bloomington and I was all excited to go and was disappointed when I finally got some. it's not bad, but nothing to get excited about. I drink both pibb and pepper they taste pretty much the same to me

I've had Sonic before out in St Louis and wasn't impressed. About the only thing even mildly interesting is the mixers they offer for their soft drinks. Really, it's meh.

I want drive in like that place from that movie license to drive.
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something. - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.
Yea... Got a sonic a few blocks from work. It isn't anything special... Actually it kinda sucks.
Maybe at one time, but I now frequent the mom & pop eateries. Get to know the people.... . Actually my bagel place usually gets my order to me before of every one else that was in front of me, because I frequent it so much and have taken the time to talk to the staff and now know the owner.
Kinda badass to walk in, exchange pleasantries and say "yea, the usual"...

Honestly, I think the thing about Sonic to most NYers is the lore of it.. it's like "we don't have one on Long Island! We must go visit and have similar food to what we can get elsewhere!". That being said, as soon as I get home after finals, I'm making the trek out.Jay wrote:

If you want a good fast food burger, Five Guys is hands down the best... Whataburger is a distant 2nd. Steak and Shake for frostie shit, Tropical Smoothie for tangy frosty shit.

Yeah, we just got Five Guys here recently. They've been popping up all over the place like gophers. Never seen such a fast expansion before.13rin wrote:

I have a Five Guys literally within 1 minute walking distance of my dorm.

Kind of debating getting it tomorrow now that you mentioned it. Literally the best fries I've ever tasted from a fast food place. Certainly better than those new Wendy's fries. Blech.

It's a brilliant fast food franchise business model. If I had the startup capital -I'd fucking soooo own one...
If Posi goes to UM he'll get his share of 'tropical smooties'...

Around here if they don't have Dr. Pepper they usually have Pibb. Both are good, but I prefer Dr. Pepper.
Dr. Pepper + Captain Morgan Spiced Rum =
Dr. Captain, Captain Pepper, or whatever you want to call it.
