Me, on the other hand
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
I know i cant come up with a good enough reason to ditch the i7\x58 platform for SandyBridge...Camm wrote:

Maybe Ill just hang tight for the next gen Nvidia\ATi display adapters, bump the ram up to 12GB...
I was thinking SSD but my Raptor RAID0 array is plenty fast and has a storage advantage.
my excuse is a 6 year old amd setupSonderKommando wrote:

Might buy another HD5970 and run them in crossfire.
Because I can.
What a coincidence
For 1280 X 720? What a waste.AussieReaper wrote:

uu
I'm thinking about getting a second 5850, most notably because I run 2 monitors at 1920x1080. Think it'll run on a 650w PSU? If not, I've still got my 1000w psu chilling in my closet.
Im only running 1920x1080 as i bought an Ilyama for £150 (2ms etc) FOR NOW untill i add the Dell 30" and a 2nd 580gtx.
you actually run a 1280x720 monitor?AussieReaper wrote:

dude what the fuck are you doing
Take the money you'd spend on another 5970 and go buy a 24" monitor. You'll thank me later.AussieReaper wrote:

Just put the last piece of my BF3 rig in place early, since I got a good deal on an HD6950 1 GB video card for $180.
I think I will do OK.
Intel Q9550 @ 3.4 Ghz
HD6950 1 Gb Video card
4 Gb Ram
@ 1680 x 1050 on 22" 120Hz monitor.
Fraps says I'm averaging ~ 90 FPS running BFBC2 on all high 16xAF/8xAA/HSAO on.

Intel i7 @ 2.7Ghz
12GB ram
Nvidia 260 1.8GB
24" 1080 and 22" 1050 60 hz each
I feel like I should be upgrading the video card, recommendations?

Or if you feel like spending some more then HD6970 or GTX570.
Well I still have me E8400 @ 3.0ghz. Any idea if that will run it?
How does a
Core i5 2500k Sandy Bridge
MSI N460GTX
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1333
MSI P67A-C43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
sound for BF3?

I would grab a better GPU personally. Upgrade to something like a HD6870, GTX560Ti or HD6950 depending on what you can afford. If you can't afford it then I would drop down to 4GB of RAM so you can afford a better card.eusgen wrote:

EDIT:
That's if you are buying it now. If you already have it then it will do fine.
