there's a few games coming out around the same time as BF3, including the new Warhammer (graphics look amazing) and Arkham City. So you wouldn't necessarily be building/spec'ing a new computer only for BF3 (unless that's all you want to play).

For the price of the 980 I would have just got a reg i7 and 6990 w/ 6970 combo or 2 580s. Would perform way better than a 980 and 570 combo.
