Heard a lot about it, maybe too much. Looks like just another platformer to me

The xbox version got a 90 on metacritic

It reminds me of World of Goo a little, and I loved that game.

Seriously though, €13 for a gimmicky game that will probably have little to no replay value is a bit too steep.

You're a flying steak. The game looks more repetitive than Assassins Creed aswell.

It's amazing.

Although, if you're getting it for PC, I suggest a (360) controller. Going from keyboard to controller makes this game go from fun to amazing.

I'm only on the second world, but it isn't really repetitive. You usually keep running into different hazards that behave different.

Also, the replays show all your tries at the same time, which is rather hilarious to watch, especially if it took you 50 tries to finish the level.

the arts looks really nice; doesn't look like a walk in the park either

price seems a bit high

I remember playing this game back when it was a random flash game with no intentions of charging money at all...

But would I pay for it? no..

EDIT: Oh yeah, it's also one of the most unforgiving games I've played... If you get mad at games even the slightest, you should use an old keyboard to play this, since the game will make you want to break something...

Floppy I would sooner take this game onto the antiques roadshow to hear how much it's worth before I take your word on it

RPS seems to think it is pretty great. Considering what I have gotten for $15 on steam though, not going to pay full price.

I watched a few Lets Play vids of it. Really fun, great humour but tough as balls. I rage way too much to play a game like that and I do´t got the patience. But there seems to be a shitload of levels, special areas (like the Retro 8 bit Warpzones) different characters with different abilities.
And you´re playing a clump of meat, rescuing his gf made of bandages from a fetus in a glass with a monocle. How cool is that?

Steam's sales are kind of backfiring on my end. I've stopped buying much of anything other than what's priced so dirt cheap that I have no other alternative.

I've sped things up a bit by dropping some of my war goals when I set out to play a game. No longer going for completion or 100%'s unless it's really good.

This game is fun indeed, but will make you hate saw blades. A lot.

Also, there are several warp zones that take you to retro designed levels, where you suddenly have only 3 lives followed by a 'game over' and you have to restart the zone again. Just like in the old NES/SNES days.
In general, it has a lot of retro charm with many hints and allusions to great platform classics.

The developer Edmund McMillen is the man behind Gish and has also worked on Braid.

And yes, you really need to play with a gamepad.
The game should support all controllers, but at the moment DirectInput support is bugged and only the X360 pad works (I used an emulator to play with my Logitech Rumblepad 2).
The bug has been confirmed on release day and a patch should be out today or tomorrow.

It looks good but I think it's a bit expensive for what it is.

So I'm going to wait for it to go on sale.

Well, it has 300 levels in 5 campaigns, 20 unlockable characters (Steam version) from other popular indie games and it'll get a level editor in January.

Indeed.
It also has 33 Steam achievements and an excellent soundtrack.

I actually purchased the latter before even pre-ordering the game itself.
