Nothing. That's the point of "limited edition" sometimes. It's to make something pretty average look awesome just with the L.E. words after it. Mind tricks for the gullible.

i can understand the logic behind limited/special edition products if the original/standard edition is actually popular, or well known

there are so many damn watches though, and it is such an individual preference...

it's not as if there are millions of 'regular' SR-71 wearers out there that would be all OH OH! for the limited-edition

but there you go; it's a nice watch, but i don't get the marketeering behind it

I liked the look of the watch and I found it at an outlet for quite a bit off the regular price.  Also, I prefer modest to flashy and I like the luminox brand.

No, someone wanting a very good watch would not buy a Luminox.

Because there's hundreds of other nicer watches out there? Luminox are for people who get a hard-on because they're worn by SEALs.

So by that logic TAG Heuer's are for the racing wannabe's and Omega's are for the James Bond wannabe's. Ever think it might be because Luminox make good, reliable watches?

I guess G-Shocks are only worn by military wannabe's considering SF make use of them.

Luminox make perfectly acceptable, average watches. They use the same movements as everyone else. They're no more reliable than anyone else. I'm sure plenty of people do buy watches based on their marketing, but Luminox are one brand who I always observe to be worn by people like Brad and yourself. And obviously people in or former US military.

Can't remember the model name or anything, but I've had it since 2005 and I love it. Shitty pic (since I dunno the model)

Jesus fuck, how do you guys even manage to actually read the time from those monstrosities? There's so many dials, numbers, arrows and lines, it´s ridiculous. Especially on those Blackbird ones.

You just get used to it. I'd find it harder to read the time on something like that "O'Clock" Zimm posted (very nice btw, I might buy one).

Well, not enough lines is the other end of that line, true

I bought a cheap alarm clock, that has no bars and somewhat displaced numbers (for design reasons) and it was a major pain to actually set her to my regular time for waking up.

Now, whenever I need to get up on a different time, I´m using my mobile

I think I ditch time alltogether. It´s just another means of opression from the world leaders and the industry to funnel us into their systems!

Their 'basic' ones start at around 10 grand, so are almost affordable on a decent salary and providing you prioritise watches over vacations and such.

I think they have a model that goes for like 3 million though, if you're looking for ridiculously expensive.

Watches are utility for me.  I wear my G-Shock if I'm in and around construction, power tools, or rocks/beach/fishing.  But my day to day is an atomic eco-drive as well, the Skyhawk Titanium.  Works wonderfully when traveling.  I had a Blue Angel prior to this Skyhawk.
