If I were to describe this game in one word, "immersive" would have to be it. it's also by far the scariest, most disturbing and most psychologically taxing game i've ever played in my life. unlike most games in the survival-horror genre, you have no means of protecting yourself other than hiding in the darkest corner in the room to avoid whatever's after you. on top of that, your character can literally go insane, and the tools that retain your sanity, mainly light, is constantly in short supply. you never truly feel safe, and some of the scariest moments are often not what you may see in front of you, but rather the uneasy anticipation of what you may find whilst creeping around the next corner or entrance, which is backed up by the game's eerie sounds. Costing only $20, this game's a steal. For anyone who enjoys a deep, well-paced horror game without the cheap pop-out scares (ie FEAR), this is the game for you.
Protip: This game is best enjoyed alone in a dark room, headphones cranked up, keeping a fresh roll of tp handy just in case.
IGN Review (8,5/10)
Metacritic (85% critic score; 9,4/10 user score)
Trailer:
Some footage I took of the game's opening scenes which set up the mood for things to come (may contain some spoilers):
so anyone here play it? I'd love to share and hear of your experiences.
