₁I am tired and bored of all the 2's.  Thank god someone has done something different.  (₂also, arkham asylum 2 makes no sense at all if it doesn't take place in arkham asylum)

₁I'm not. It's the only thing that makes sense. And it isn't impossible to add some descriptive flair to the title:

Doom II: Hell on Earth (vs Doom 3...OOOH)
Thief II: The Metal Age
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (vs Star Trek: Insurrection, Generations, First Contact...without looking that shit up, how do you sort it chronologically? by how old the actors look on the front cover?! how can you tell how old Patrick Stewart is anyway? the guy's ageless!)

You have Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3. Those worked out fine, until they made Super Mario World, which is now only peripherally known as Super Mario 4. Since then, the series really lost any sort of chronological order. Then you have The Legend of Zelda 1, 2, and...Link to the Past? Everyone I know calls it Zelda 3. Now imagine if id decided to go with Doom, Doom: Hell on Earth and then instead of Doom 3 , just Doom. You could sort Doom 3 by the graphics on the back of the box, but what happens when you're faced with a situation like Doom: Hell on Earth, The Ultimate Doom and even Final Doom?

WTF?!

Years after the fact, I have to read the descriptions on the back of The Matrix movies to remember which came first, Revolutions or Reloaded, and they were a part of my damned generation. And seriously, What should be Rambo 4 is just called Rambo? I believe that at least in SOME countries, the title is Rambo 4. Maybe I'll trade in my version for one of those. Don't even ask me about Rocky Balboa.
