Rogue looks nice. Paladin as usual looks the best imo.
I really want to 'get' the WoW artstyle but I just cant. I just dont get the massive shoulder pads/helmet thing. It looks silly

it makes more sense... ish... when you're in-game and surrounded by the buildings and environments. small shoulderpads look really shit in WoW (they've actually been accidentally downsized a few times, for particular races, after patches and updates, temporarily). most of the new armor sets are stupidly over-the-top or pitifully lacking aesthetic continuity with the rest of WoW's artstyle... but they have got it right a few times.

fixed? see the thing is all you (can) do is check rogue sites like shadowpanther, ask guildies, consult rogue-class forums etc. then you do easy content and get gear that, by all relative standards, is easy to get. then you think you're somehow 'accomplished' or have l2p'd. nah. like i said you missed the boat by about 4 years: the time when content was hard, bosses were achievements, gear was rare and classe were hard to play probably died out in early-mid TBC. everything has been a cakewalk since then - a single player game oriented around xboxlive achievements, not real game-accomplishment.

and it's not me that doesn't care... literally no one does. i don't even care what the world's top guilds are doing anymore. doesn't seem really like they have, either, since late TBC and early WotLK. the mass-disbands and major roster-rehauls showed that. all the hardcore have left. now it's you guys left acting like you're kings of the shitpile.

You do sum it all up in very efficient fashion.

So what did you do to find your hitcap, Uzique? Did you set your character to attack a dummy for 4 hours at each .1% hit increment to find out when you stopped missing? Or did you fucking Google it?

Yeah.

i played in an era where your hitcap wasn't the sole determinant of how good a 'player' you were. nowadays all of WoW's discrimination is down to bare basic numbers and figures-- because all of the classes are fucking mindless to play, and all the instances and encounters are easy. you don't need to know how to play your character, you just need to make up the minimum numbers by the spreadsheet, and then you can /facepalm your way through it.

nowadays to be a 'good' player (which you clearly think you are, you spend enough time playing and posting screenshots of your omgwtf character) all you have to do is copy the cookie-cutter build from the internet, gem and enchant as everyone else is on the forums/armory, and check youtube for the boss strats and raid rotation. i think you're forgetting that most of the hardest content and progress took place without any of those internet aids.

So back in the Vanilla days, stat caps didn't matter at all? You didn't have raid/boss guides? You didn't have class guides? That I refuse to believe.

of course they mattered but there wasn't a way to just copy everyone else's layout. theorycrafting existed back then but it was far more arcane and hardcore. raid/boss guides existed but NOTHING like you have today-- not even comparable. class guides? like i said, playing your class was incomparably different. there were nuances and skill-ceilings to the game that you couldn't explain in a wiki page then. now all you need is the spec, the gems/ench and the rotation and you're a dps-meter topper. no one's saying there's anything wrong with that method. just stop acting like you're achieving diddly squat, or have any ability.

It's all relative really. You say in comparison to Vanilla/TBC I've achieved nothing, or have no skill, when compared to the players that are in Cata, I think almost 1800 rating in 2v2 isn't too bad.

PS, PvE is a complete faceroll, I completely agree with that.

like i said, you spend fucktonnes of time in the game so of course you get a little character ego and think you know shit. relativity is the important thing. arena is piss and always has been, even in tbc. players in cata are also the worst players the game  has ever had-- community wide and hardcore wise. like i said a few posts ago... kings of the shitpile. no one cares.

Really disagree with your "no-one cares" clause. WoW is bigger than it ever has been. Lots of Youtubers making a living off WoW videos, lot more players, etc etc. A lot more people do care than did, WoW's lost it's "geek, shut-in, forever alone" reputation, it's become quite socially acceptable. So no, more people care. Just less hardcore people care, so you don your little hipster shades with no lenses, because it came more mainstream, you don't like it any more.

well yes they were but if you and your partner had some knowledge on your own classes you could still turn out on top, regardless of the massive disadvantage. In terms of skill on the PvP side of things, going from vanilla to TBC was improvement.

vanilla was more enjoyable though.

WoW isn't bigger than it has ever been. figures wise and casual wise, maybe. influence wise and respect wise? no. its hey-day has passed. youtubes making livings off it? oh yeah, people like totalhalibut? jesus christ, what skill. you know yourself that they stuff they talk about and experience is absolutely bollocks. the fact that noobs have channels talking about noobshit doesn't help your argument for 'achievement' at all. WoW is more mainstream now? rofl. since when has WoW ever been not mainstream. it was the most popular PC game in the world when i played it. all my fps friends and all of the pro teams i knew basically disbanded to flock to WoW. you're talking shite. stop being butthurt because your gear and 'skill' mean nothing.
