edit: fortunately you can get cd-keys cheap off of ebay most of the time.  also, a couple weeks ago, BC and vanilla wow were like $10 or $15 bundled together straight from blizzard.  not sure if it's available now

there has never been a class 'nerfed to uselessness' in WoW. occasionally, granted, differing from season to season, there have been 'flavour of the month' talent specifications and certain class-combinations in the 2v2/3v3 bracket that work very well... but no class has ever been useless. finray is just offloading his fail at the rogue-class (which is widespread and wellknown) onto common whines, QQ's and 'imba!' cry threads. seriously ignore him.

e: to further this argument you can say that a certain spec is preferable during certain patches, but a whole class?  nah

e: I think instead of destroying all the shit they built thus far that they should have just given players more areas to explore [and put even more effort into upgrading the engine].

Actually, they're trying to make the game evolve. People get bored of the same old zones so they changed things up a bit. Who honestly was excited every time they went to WPL or EPL the 2nd or 3rd time around.

Never played guild wars, never wanted to. It's all part of the storyline, they're catering to the fans who read the books and shit when they did the whole "sundering" thing. Frankly i might restart my account just to see how the zones look nowadays, I've gotten The Explorer Achievement or did they take that away.

you never played through the 1-60 content so why are you criticizing? so ridiculously dumb. now it is is more streamlined, thought-out and fun that it was ever before. the original 1-60 content was 6 years old and hadn't had any graphical, (major) content or lore updates; essentially everytime you started a new character you'd have to endure 60 levels of slow leveling, comparatively poor-technology, poorer graphics... and then you'd be shot into the 60-80 bracket, full of two huge new, expansive continents...

so they have been adding new continents and new space to the game every time. with cataclysm, one of the major updates they wanted to introduce was to have flying mounts in the original content - obviously this meant having to rebuild the entire continents, anyway, because they weren't designed to be flown around in the first time (i.e. lots of unshaded content and lots of blank space beyond the 'unclimbable hills', as it were).

i'm not saying you're hating... i'm just saying your (uninformed) opinion is categorically wrong, basically.

there's nothing advantageous or desirable about adding yet another continent of new, fresh, graphically-superior content whilst leaving all of the old content neglected in its 2004-era state. think about it: all of the new customers, return players and fresh re-rolls that your exciting new expansion pack encourages then have to level through the necessary 1-60 content... which is 6 years old. "hey! buy this new £30 expansion pack! great graphics! fantastic engine! amazingly intricate content! we've spent 2 years developing it!"... "oh, but first! go through this 1-60 shitpile with old fashioned graphics, low-polygon gear/mobs/buildings, and none of the later-expansion's functionality and features!". no. just no. i think it was very important, around now (considering blizzard want to extend WoW to lvl100, cataclysm's 85 is a nice point), to fill out all of the old content with, for example, flying-mount functionality and updated graphics.

not to mention the redesign of all the old zones is genius... they look gorgeous.
