^I posted there about the lag problems, apparently that's the way to talk to the developers.  It's bullshit though, EA & DICE will bust their ass to release DLC and weapon balances, but neglect the fact that poor connections completely ruin the game.

What's up? Had an update yesterday 288mb, had an update today of 451mb. If one is the server and client update, what is the other one?

On Thursday 3rd June the PlayStation 3 Bad Company 2 servers will go down for maintenance
I played today with a friend and we both concluded that the lag wasn't any better or worse than pre-patch.  As for the 288 MB patch, I'm not sure what that one was...I don't remember downloading that.

Oh, and what's your PSN?  We should play sometime.

Just got done playing a few rounds, ran perfect. Looks like they fixed the PS3 lag problems. Everyone in my squad and a few friends also reported damn near perfect performance.

Been some maintenence on the playstation network yesterday, I got told several games had lag issues because of the PS network and not only because of the game itself ...

this lag was going on after the patch, before yesterday.  maybe they fixed it and the ps network was the lag issue yesterday.  we shall see.

Let me know how it goes for you. Me and the friends I play with have had many lag issues the last few weeks, but yesterday we were all doing great, which hasn't happened in awhile now. Also the mic's were sounding clean again too, not all choppy and broken up. We played on a few different servers with the same results. One guy had been playing for a few hours before I got on and he said he didn't have an issue all day. I sure hope they got it fixed. It was really getting annoying and frustrating.

We'll it was too good to last. I played last night and had lag issues again. They weren't as bad as a few days ago, but definitely still an issue.

Lost a game of rush last night due to one of our own teammates destroying our stations. The game should auto kick someone for a negative score of maybe 150 or more.

As for the lag, I think most it occurs due to people trying to play online with the PS3s wireless instead of cables. Not much EA/DICE can do in that case since if they cluster people who are hardwired in together it would limit game selections for everybody.

I played a few rounds yesterday afternoon and it ran pretty damn well for me. Only had a couple little hiccups, but not a big deal. My friends said theirs also ran well, one had a rubberband, but that was about it. Hope the maintenance was the fix, we'll see........

Any of you play yesterday and have issues?

EDIT:
Still issues. At least sometimes there's a smooth game or two in there. When it's smooth for me it's smooth for the whole squad, when one of us has a problem, we all do.

I am happy about the warm welcome I received from you guys and hopefully this is the beginning of something GREAT!

This is the latest update on the lag issue on the NA servers.

The DEV team have been working hard to find a solution to this issue for quite some time now and we think that we have a possible fix now that will roll out gradually over the next few days as the console servers are currently undergoing maintenance in North America to resolve the lag issues being experienced.

PlayStation 3 maintenance is complete with Xbox 360 servers being maintained during today on servers that empty to avoid disrupting your game sessions in progress. If you are in America and Canada you can set your EA profile to your country of residence to connect to your local servers which should be lag free once again when maintenance is complete. Report any continued lag issues to us on our forums http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk.

I would also like to add that the BFBC2 PC patch is currently still in development and we have sent it for STEAM compatibility testing today. All being well the patch will be released early next week. For information on what the patch fixes take a look at the changelog on the official forums at http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk.

I would also like to announce every Wednesday from now on to be “Community Wednesdays” where I will give you guys a weekly update in the form of a blog post, but also in forums and a direct link to this on the official BFBC2 twitter account at http://twitter.com/OfficialBFBC2 .

In these community Wednesday posts I will supply you with information regarding the game.

Subject: DICE: North American Server changes

Following the reports of LAG from North American based users we are making adjustments to the servers based in that region. This work will go on in the background over the next 2 days.

Please continue to feedback on any improvements you notice.

Yes, we are changing server configurations in the North American data centers. I didn't say US as I don't want to forget the other countries over there

You and up to three other players attempt to fend off endless waves of AI-controlled units as you capture several flag points. In short, you are playing a cross between Squad Rush, Conquest, and the Single Player campaign.

I prefer to play against real people so I have no plans to purchase Onslaught mode.

The thing that frustrates me the most is how few enemies there are. I played it on my friends PS3 the other day with 3 random guys and we plowed through the hard difficulty on Valparaiso like it was nothing. There just aren't very many enemies to kill, and when they die as fast as in SP, there is really no challenge.

It's only really challenging if you try and do it yourself.
